Question about uploading videos to youtube
« on: January 26, 2012, 03:28:39 pm »
This question comes from a little bit of frustration, from having little experience.

as you all may or may not know I have started a youtube channel.
I use Cam studios to record my desktop with a cam studios loss less codec.
video quality has improved with this codec so I stuck with it.
only down fall is it takes over 2 hours to upload 45 seconds worth of video :(

my question to you all that have posted video's, do you have any suggestions to speed up this process
with retaining video quality?  Thanks Sincerly SyberShot

This won't help if you want to keep the same quality, but I usually make my music videos at about 20mb, WMV. I don't know how to speed up an upload, unless a person can get faster internet service and youtube doesn't slow it down a lot. I am assuming my video speed is 1500 kbps. 256mbps for the audio.

markofkane, thanks for the knowledge. my last video was 45 seconds at 90mb :o I'm not sure about the speed or audio or even how to change them for that matter. I guess I will have to do some research on them.

what I been doing which is probably wrong, is just uploading the avi produced from cam studio.

the only programs I have to edit video is windows live movie maker, adobe premiere, and adobe after affects.
would anyone suggest: I use one of these program to change the format? or should I change the setting which I know nothing about in cam studio?

You should be able to use movie maker. Just add the clip to the timeline. I forgot the rest of the steps because I haven't used movie maker in a long time.
And I got the stupid stripped down version of Windows Live movie maker. But when you go to "publish" the clip, you should be able to choose the format to change it to.

I have this program for changing the format etc,

http://www.winxdvd.com/hd-video-converter-deluxe/

It is a paid program but quite good, so many things to choose from.
An avi file will take much longer than nearly all other formats.

Just tossing it in for you to look at.

Thanks a lot markofkane, I will try that out this weekend.
NIGE Thanks a lot for the suggestion, but money is tight at the moment to purchase any software.
Duskrider have you tried out the one at the bottom of the page that converts video to 3d? or have you tried out the program you e-mailed out, that changes pics and video to 3d with video yet? hmmm maybe I will try one of those out and start a new series on my youtube channel of 3d videos  ;) I know, I know one issue at a time  ::)

I downloaded them all, I've used most,  no problems found yet.
no, I not tried the video convert to 3d yet.
was very pleased with the avi to wmv conversion.  Never able to do that before.

***added note:
That group is great for conversions and easy.
I think the following is best for quality pics and videos

3d pics --    http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/
3d videos --   http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stvmkr/
