Im a newb but this topic caught my eye because I had a question about Aim and Hal...
On AIM, if the recipient has their info in properly, and its compatible, a person can send a message from AIM the recipient's cell phone as a text message.
I've had moderate success with this (as a human, not a bot), some people seem to have the icon that they are available to be texted from aim but they cant, some do. Some phone services you have to enable it specifically. I'd say try it (as a human), if they can get a test message theres nothing that means Hal won't get through, right?
HOWEVER, I would be very careful because text messages on many phones/accounts cost one or the other party $ and Hal is gonna automatically answer.
