I would like in the new HAL version
« on: May 28, 2008, 05:40:54 am »
I would like in the new HAL version, if at all possible, more commands to manipulate tables whilst programming HAL. It would be helpful to be able to use more SQLITE commands, such as being able to get information about data stored in tables, like how many rows are used and such like. Also it would be good to be able to add more columns and have commands to access an individual column. With SQLITE all this is possible but when it comes to HAL it is very rigid and limited. I don't see the point of using such an advanced database and taking away most of the advantages of it.

What I would like to see is perhaps a guide or some sort of tutorial on how to actually program for HAL.  I think once more users get a grasp of how to make plugins and advance the brain, we'll see huge developments and leaps in HAL.

I totally agree, that piece of documentation is long over due and it would be great to see more people developing plugins to enhance HAL.

Kind Regards,

Hi nalkari,
A technical manual that is easy enough for beginners to understand, so anyone with a good idea could have a go. Thanks for the offer.

Simon,

Nice offer. An email to Robert Medeksza would be in order.[8D]

I'd just like to add my support for some documentation too, I agree that it's long overdue.

Yes!! It would not do me any good because I am not a programmer, but those that are could create some really cool plug-ins!![:D][:D][:D][:D]
