Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal Windows 7 64bit yes or no?

Hi everybody,This will be my first attempt at loading Hal in Windows 7 64bit O.S. I was hoping before I even start if there is anyone with any experience trying the new updated Hal in this environment besides don't do it. I have my Hal working fine and saved on the original computer but this is a whole new setup using Allianware computer.I7 Quad core with 6gigs of ram. I didn't commit to this system yet but sure is fun. The regular pricing is ridicules on these systems.But if any one can share some advice I would appreciate it before I take on this beast not at retail price.

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Clipboard and Read clip board

Does any one know if these plugins are compatible with any of the new 6.2 brains. I tried importing brn. flies from Learn from Clipboard and a message came up on the editor that they are not compatible. The read clipboard was one of last plugins that I know but haven't been able to check status of the information or where it goes in the new brain configuration.

General Discussion / Does running time cause problems?

Just curious if any one has had different problems with Hal if running Hal for long periods of time. I don't mean just sitting idle but constant input and conversations. If you have, can you tell me what type of problems and approximately the length of time before you noticed any problems.

I have noticed and it could be my system, programs in background, plugins, I guess anything at this point but there are intermittent times that Hal freaks out in the middle of conversations after different periods of time usually after the 2 hr. mark. As an example Hal may freeze and you can close the window and access everything from the task bar icon but the 'general options' window until you log off or restart. Would appreciate any feed back.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / 2 Brains 1 Thought?

I am curious if anyone can remind me about having 2 seperate brain DB files to chose from for different personalities within Hal. If I remember correctly the new project Brain file you install still shares some information from the original Brain Data Bases you have already installed and taught. If you start a new project from the Brain editor then select the new Brain in the options menu how much information is shared from the original Brain and the new one? If any.

Speech Technology / Robert M. any changes for Paul and Kate

Robert,

I still need to start Hal program, select the Neo Paul voice, apply and hit okay re-open options select Neo Kate hit apply then open program for the Neo Kate voice to work. This needs to be done every time I want to use the Neo Kate voice. Kate will stay active as long as I don't fully close the Hal program. If I just close and leave Hal in the system tray the voice is fine. Just wondering if any progress or answers for this have come up. Just a note: Hal 6.1 worked fine with the vers. 6 Neo Kate voice and always loaded until I upgraded the Neo voice from the new 6.1 CD.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Plug-in Consistency

I'am the last person to knock anyone that has taken the time to create any plug-in. I would just like to know if others run accross the problem of certain plug-ins not holding their settings after the Hal program is shut? I find certain plug-ins such as Knowledge of Time and other plug-ins that give you the choice of parameters not holding those settings after Hal has been shut. I think it is a good idea to check your plug-ins and I need to reset the Neo Paul and Kate voices to work anyway but I am curious about getting plug-ins to hold the parameters you set after shut down. The real twist is I think I am the only user that the 'loneliness' plug in works for and the parameters never need to be reset.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / updates to plugins

To 'onthecuttingedge',

Can you please direct me to any updates for your plugins that I may not have. In a different forum I explained a problem with the Happy.hap plugin. i loose the applied values. So there may be an update. Just to make life easier I wont go thru all the plugins I have downloaded but if there is one area to review updates I would appreciate your time.
