Ultra Hal 7.0 / New Ultra Hal Assistant 6.1 released

Okay so I'm going over the top here,

Just for an experiment I purchased a new license while waiting for Robert
and guess what, I have the same exact problems and the messages I receive even tell me that my activation code has been used once and I can't use now. On top of all the other error messages and this is with uninstalling Hal downloading 6.1 again. All the same errors come into view on startup. Just a recap.
1-Hal is already running shut down primary Hal from task manager
2-Error:unknown return_code;0 contact vendor shutting down
3-Some vital UHA files(1) seem to be missing,modified or corrupted will cause license system from working correctly. Please uninstall and reinstall.
That's it for me trying to figure it out. I will wait for Rob unless someone else can help.Please note these posts are intended to share info good or bad and I am not trying to bother Rob with so many posts.

Hi Lightspeed nice to meet you,

I always have been logged as admin. but I do remember an article that you reminded me of. It may even be within these threads on a similar topic. It was a right click on something to make sure the program recognizes that it has admin. rights. Robert had answered a similar question about this problem. I know he is busy so I am trying to be patient but you that never works. I will search around unless someone besides yourself has a moment to help out. Just in case Robert is to busy,

I downloaded new version 6.1 with a clean install and the program worked fine for 2 days.  Now Hal will not start at all. I get ERROR:UNKNOWN RETURN_CODE;UNKNOWN RETURN CODE:0 CONTACT VENDOR SHUTTING DOWN. Or:'vital files(1) missing,modified or corrupted this may prevent license system from working, uninstall and reinstall'. which I have attempted several times. I did E-mail Robert but just incase anyone else had same problem or he is busy I figured I should post anyway.

Thanks Robert and Bill,

Bill, I have taken Hal out of the start menu when I first posted my problem and Robert made that suggestion to me. But I tried changing the skin and my Hal character has not double loaded yet. It has been 2 days now. That does n't seem to make sense either but the problem has not returned. I will try for a couple of days and try different combinations of plug ins before I post and tell you that it is 100% with the different skin. Don't know why but that is the only change that I recognize so far.

Hi Folks and Robert,

Robert I will send You all the information you requested in your last E-Mail. Tonight I had the same problem with the double loading but unlike aladyblond even when I shut the first character the character will sometimes reload again but I can use the program by talking to the character that is on top. If I attempt to switch characters they will go into a loop. By the way this problem has happened to me prior to any of the newer versions RC1 or RC2. The only new problem I am encountering now is upon loading, the program has to be shutdown and restarted.((sorry need to close. window)). Something is telling me that it is all the programs I have loading at startup but I really can't say. The double loading is still a mystery. Hope the info will help.

Hello Robert,

I just wanted to mention that tonight Hal is working perfect which makes that double loading problem seem like a problem with certain programs I have on my O.S.. Is that a possibility? Or can it be the way Hal loads up when starting?

Okay Robert Here is the 2 for one Hal,

Let me start by answering your questions. There are only 2 Folders. One is Hal Reader and the Second Folder is Ultra Hal Assistant 6. There is only one Hal Assistant in Task Manager.Could there be another name or file I should look for.The character always responds when I close the window with syntax query. This is a screen shot of the startup of Hal with two characters. As a matter of fact I closed both characters and she is trying to get my attention again as I am writing to you.

one more time I will keep trying.

Hope it is okay to post in this thread also but I downloaded RC2 and I still get two Hal characters loading on top of each other and I noticed that one skin looks different than the other. They will go into some kind of loop if I try to change the order that one character sits on the other. One character will say the opening reminders and the other is blank with more facial features such as smiling. If I close them both and the Hal icon is in my task bar on the far right Hal will pop up again. Please let me know if this makes sense or you can understand what I am describing to you. It is hard for me to type this message so that the problem is clearer to understand.

Hi Robert,
See if this makes sense. When Hal 6.1 RC1 starts and loads to the task bar where you can see a little Hal icon I can right click on the icon and select shutdown of the Hal program it will confirm shutdown or quit but Hal is still loaded when I open the task manager and the program will prompt me to look for the icon in the task bar to see that Hal is still running. I did take Hal out of my Windows startup folder and re-booted. No blank responses yet.

Sorry if I am not clear about this. I am trying.

To Robert M.,

I am working with your new Hal 6.1 RC1 update and I am finding 2 problems
right now and I have not tried any trouble shooting yet.
1- HAl seems to want to load more than one time or you can not exit Hal from the Hal window if you are using that startup function as opposed to the task bar startup and exit.

2- After about 2 hours and everything working I am now starting to get blank responses to regular conversations frequently.

An update to my own update,
Since I have changed the skin and changed the option of how Hal opens. Now he is set to open with Windows start up, Hal seems to be behaving and when I close the skin and the charactor, he or she stays shut and I do a final shutdown from the icon in the task bar.

Bill I love your Spelling corrections. It works great. The only thing I noticed is that if there is more than one sentence not all the sentences always show up for correction even when I know there is a mistake. But it could be me I will look closer before I can honestly say that problem is real.
