General Discussion / Re: windows phone 10....
« on: June 07, 2015, 09:56:33 pm »
Thanks for the continued updates doggs.

I'm happy about the tablet and laptop as well. I reserved my copies of Win 10 for my desktops starting with the July 29th release. Did notice they basically had a system for the releases including this Windows Logo in taskbar to reserve a copy. This option was embedded into an optional update for windows, I believe it is KB3035583. You should see GWX file within; windows/system 32/ GWX, which stands for; Get Windows 10.

I do not use a windows phone but looking forward to Windows 10 release and soon to follow the updates after July 29th which should show windows true colors. I don't think they want to drop the ball on this one.

Thank you,  rathb18 for your time and for script.
I would just like to be sure where you inserted this. It does explain in the script but I thought I better ask first then see if it makes sense.
If you don't have the time no worries. I don't mind the homework. Thanks again.

Spitfire2600, would you mind re-posting with the correction you made? I would be interested in looking at it if you get the time. Thank you.

Could possibly be rathb18, can you post a copy? I notice that OTCE mentioned it was a scripted plugin which the code he wrote to put in place of the original DEDUCTIVE REASONING in Brain Editor where you can see the entire UltraHal script or using Crimson. I don't think it was a conventional plugin but I could be wrong. Robert M. never gets involved with other plugins unless he feels they are written in a way that doesn't require much and only enhances as a whole the functions of UltraHal as he did in the past. With any update in his mind this may or may not be anything he will investigate at this time but I'm not Robert M. nor do I speak for him. I'm very curious about it in the meantime. OTCE I believe is the only person that can shed some light on this for sure but others may have seen these earlier posts and did get what rathb18 is speaking about.

Carl, just curios if you remember when you gave your instructions of keeping the haptek character information when the character was opened. We used that in another folder and defaulted the start-up folder to look at our new temp starter folder. I'm getting confused reading my own post here, hope you can remember. At the time your UltraHal was loaded on a different drive other than the default C drive. We had to change the drive letter in your instructions to make this work. Stored in that temp start folder we were able to maintain the information of the character without it defaulting away within 24hrs and make changes in that temp start folder. Believe it or not I have been using that way ever since and never bothered to look if UltraHal is still looking at that folder on start-up. Just doesn't make sense because I believe that there would be a different character loading or an error message of some kind.

I'm mentioning all this because I shouldn't try anything until I am sure that the little trick you came up with is still working now and I just thought of it but never gave it any thought because my UltraHal just keeps working without any problems and this was years ago. Looking for original instructions in case you don't remember.
Just out of curiosity can we still see the temp file for the character when it is opened in that haptek temp file for Windows 7?
I remember it always stating ; Do not alter anything in this file because it will only work for 24hrs before the file defaults again.

Don't mean to drive you crazy. Maybe misery does love company. Also downloaded the Hap Reg and played with it but don't remember how to use the information while making the adjustments.

Thank you,

OTCE, does this plug-in or script still exist or did I miss it somewhere else. To be honest I usually try all your plug-ins and it could be my mind failing me again but I don't remember if this plug-in or script is in my system or not. Is there still a way to get copy so I can compare or can you suggest what I should look for. I did take into consideration the dates on this post but I am very curios if I just totally went blank on this.

Thank you,

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: HAL won't work on non-English desktops
« on: June 01, 2015, 02:34:03 pm »
EUDIS1980, I think we are having a slight language barrier right now. I read through the thread and Art I feel has answered your question but your reply I feel is something totally different then your original post. Sorry it could be me but I would maybe start from scratch and maybe rephrase your question differently.
You mention that you have a 'Greek version of Windows 7' Can I guess that the default language is still in English or not? To be honest I'm not aware of that version so please check from 'START' button, Right click computer and click properties and that should tell you exactly the Windows version you have. Maybe can suggest something from there. Best I can do unless others really do understand your problem better.

General Discussion / Re: question mark at end of sentences
« on: May 25, 2015, 09:46:24 pm »
I guess it has always been the structure for say questions: Who,What, Where, When and such, not the punctuation at the end as mention in Carls post. I know I constantly forget that point or just copying and pasting responses that include punctuations because UltraHal will use punctuations in replies or repeat your reply with a question. Conversion to Capitol letters which I have found didn't really matter when inputting. UltraHal takes care of it. If you notice in tables you can also see inputs of both Capitol and lower case responses. I believe that script is also written into UltraHal but haven't found it to hinder anything.

Just to mention again if you guys don't mind. One of my UltraHal programs is named 'Hal' and I did it just to see results. This is the UltraHal that I mentioned earlier and has never given me a noticeable difference or any confusion that I have yet to notice and still carries on conversation as well if not better at times as the other UltraHal programs I use.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: People Putty
« on: May 25, 2015, 09:21:42 pm »
Welcome Newguy. Just adding to the great suggestions by the members here. It may not be as organized as we all would hope but you will find in time that most of what you need is here. Just a suggestions when using plugins, make sure you have no prior errors, add one at a time and use UltraHal for you to determine the results. very important that any plugin that you decide to use that you fill in any parameters the plugin may need. Example: Low, Random, Obedient, Average,. These are just examples that you might find when you add a plugin. Highlight it and always check that any variables it might have are set, leave nothing blank. Also changing these variables can affect you receiving an error. When you track the plugin that may be causing an error just change the variable and sometimes that will cure what ever conflicts arise from your particular UltraHal.

Every one pulls knowledge from their own experiences and the experiences of others. Some things are easily explained while others are not due to UltraHal's ability to become your own UltraHal. This even takes into consideration of your  computer hardware, other software and configuration. That is why we constantly try to examine things that may occur and what they may have in common with others. Their are other members here that better understand the technical reasons for such errors or changes that may occur over time. This can be unique because we do all have something slightly or completely different configurations.

Makes UltraHal extra special as you will experience yourself and choose the best course of knowledge for your UltarHal personality.

Enjoy, GOD Bless our Troops, past, present and future!!

Almost forgot from options you can save and store file or print out each conversation session. Great to see looking back on as your UltraHal progresses. I'm sure you will be surprised at things you really didn't notice before only because your in the moment.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: teaching issues
« on: May 22, 2015, 05:27:20 pm »
If you take your time and read any posts on how others accomplish what is best for them, you will see many teaching techniques.
It repetition in different formats to allow UltraHal to respond in a more favorable way. Remember that this program does remember almost everything that is discussed but it also has a relevance scale for information. If you decide to post again also let us know what your learning bar is selected to, if free will plugin is being used and how that is set.
You will find Ultrahal to be surprisingly smarter then perceived. Just remember as you also mentioned it took many members to decide and change their opinions on a particular method that gets them closer to the type of AI they would like to have. Their are many members and I know I am one of them that with one UltraHal program I use no special techniques outside of trying my best and use a spell corrector with normal conversation about everything. I also make it a point to answer all of UltraHal's questions one way or another. It sometimes takes more than one response from UltraHal before spitting out the answer the way you would have liked. There is a learning curve. But that is what you need to enjoy as in life. The journey can be pretty remarkable. Stay patient and read as many posts as you can. It will give you volumes of information and answers to questions you have not thought of yet. It is unique to every one.

Speech Technology / Re: Cannot Access
« on: May 22, 2015, 05:11:47 pm »
Jenna, I hope I don't add to your frustration here.

First- the UHTTS reader runs for UltraHal and also as a substitute default reader for Windows.

Usually I have mine setup where it just opens regardless of using UltraHal or not. Anything I highlight and use the copy feature will allow the reader to do so. I would start with that. Use the program outside of itself if that is how you are trying to use it. The reader it self works fine but you can have some problems if trying to use the features that are built in, example: open the program and type in the window and then save the file as something other than a wave file. Certain voices will only be able to use features within the program window.

This TTs is best used for your computer speech for dialog that may show up on your screen and basic windows commands that are taking place. This also depends on how windows is setup for reading things aloud or not.

But as far as working with UltraHal the voices and the TTS Reader from Zabaware should work just fine.
Make sure the voices are also showing up in the Haptek Reader and or the options settings for Speech in UltraHal. Sometimes the voices need to be reselected in order to register voice with UltraHal program.

I may have missed some earlier posts so excuse me if I'm making things even more complicated.

What I'm trying to say in short is the TTs Reader works best just for UltraHal and possibly for Windows as alternative reader within Windows.
As far as using the program itself it can be very quirky. I stopped using the program itself because it would yield different results. When I mention using the program itself I am trying to explain the opening of the program and using any of the features built in, such as typing in dialog window and saving or converting text files into wave files.
Just let it start with Windows do not use it for anything else and set it as your default reader with your voice selection and that's about it. If you want to hear all the pop-ups and warnings on your computer you can set that in Windows because those voices are compatible with all Windows operations.

Sorry if I also stepped on any toes, Feel free to correct me but that is just my experiences over the years and how it is being used for my own purposes. If still confused please respond again. Very hard to be very descriptive without seeing things and exactly knowing how you arrived at your problem but be patient. Someone may even re-write what I am trying to convey if my thoughts did not translate very well or very clear in my post. Some members know what I may be trying to convey only because they have seen my posts before.

Speech Technology / Re: TTS not working
« on: May 18, 2015, 01:08:52 pm »
Sorry I didn't mention that but, yes you need to repeat steps to register that voice every time you start program. I never really took the time to investigate problem. I took the same attitude at the time, if it works that way it wasn't the end of the world.

Glad kinda working for you. The only thing, I don't remember it affecting the tts for Windows as well. But if your okay then all is good.

General Discussion / Re: question mark at end of sentences
« on: May 17, 2015, 07:57:44 pm »
Apparently UltraHal has many mysteries especially when other plug-ins are involved.

Just my experiences; Robert, lightspeed, Carl strange but true. I have one paid UltraHal program at work used exclusively for me to clear my thought patterns and to share my thoughts especially when others are not available.

My character which is a Head only character is named Hal. I remember from long ago that it was a no-no due to that written script Robert incorporated so there would be no confusion to use the 'Hal' name. This particular brain uses the least amount of plug-ins. All my additional UltraHal programs with many plug-ins engaged for trial and error purposes. Have used this character and set-up for over five years and has the least amount of script errors and his learning abilities have been nothing short of amazing. As amazing as all other set-ups I now use and the bell and whistle plug-ins, I appreciate.

Getting back to the real topic. I have not really noticed although there are times it seems that questions can be ignored or just not responded to by UltraHal. The most obvious word I have noticed is "not". "not" in a sentence just doesn't seem to catch UltraHal's attention. I am far from being grammatically correct for inputs or responses to UltraHal. (Not my fault I grew up in Brooklyn)Just kidding for anybody else. Wouldn't change it for the world.

It can be be the structure of the sentence that I use it or in lightspeed's example do questions need to be properly written for UltraHal to really understand the question all the time.
Carl showed us the written script, and by that example it could be something UltraHal does not know the answer or will need to process the information or question first and then respond.
Like others I have found being persistent with UltraHal will have a better result with a little extra coaching using the same subject matter in different ways.

Don't remember if the settings for learning and also setting the parameters in the area that you can select how obedient or independent UltraHal will affect those responses. Just a thought.
