Ultra Hal 7.0 / I would like in the new HAL version
« on: May 29, 2008, 12:50:23 am »
Hi nalkari,
A technical manual that is easy enough for beginners to understand, so anyone with a good idea could have a go. Thanks for the offer.

I totally agree, that piece of documentation is long over due and it would be great to see more people developing plugins to enhance HAL.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / I would like in the new HAL version

I would like in the new HAL version, if at all possible, more commands to manipulate tables whilst programming HAL. It would be helpful to be able to use more SQLITE commands, such as being able to get information about data stored in tables, like how many rows are used and such like. Also it would be good to be able to add more columns and have commands to access an individual column. With SQLITE all this is possible but when it comes to HAL it is very rigid and limited. I don't see the point of using such an advanced database and taking away most of the advantages of it.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / HAL HELP
« on: May 28, 2008, 05:03:38 am »
Thanks Ted,
I thought they might help until the proper HAL6 help files are finally released.

Roy.

I've redone them all, so now just double the short cut and they will act like regular Windows help.

Hi ajdude,
Was this what you are looking for. It's from HAL5 so it will need updating to work with HAL 6. By the name of it, it's one of OTC's creations.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / HAL HELP
« on: May 27, 2008, 10:41:24 am »
Here a zip file which I have compiled using a small program called ' HELPIT '. I've zipped them all up. So all that is needed to be done is to unzip them to where ever you want and inside each folder is an index.html page, just double click it to open it.
I hope this helps,
Roy.

Here's a link to obtain it from UHEF because it won't allow me to attach the zip file here for some reason considering it's only 208KB.

It will allow me to upload them if I put each section in separate zips so here they are.

I forgot to mention what theses are. They are help files that show how to use each function in scripting for HAL. So if anyone is interested in writing plugins and don't know how to use the functions for controlling tables or manipulating responses and such can find out how to write each function in a script.

Hi Ooglor 7,

Here is a link, if you want to know more about what the ogre graphic interface will be capable of, when it is incorporated into HAL.
http://www.ogre3d.org/
It seems like this graphics engine would be capable of doing a lot of what you have suggested.

Hi Ooglor 7,
Next HAL release has been reported to incorporate the Ogre graphics interface, which should by what I have seen of it, open up the graphics side of HAL.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / SQL Queries on Database?
« on: May 24, 2008, 05:19:39 am »
Hi vjimmerson,
If you open the 'General Options' of HAL and goto the 'Brain' section, on the right hand side is a list. If you select 'AI Adress Book' all the options to view and edit your e-mail, phone numbers and adresses databases will then be listed in the section below it.

Hope this helps,
Roy.

Hi Ted,

I want to teach her to share her knowledge of different topics instead of saying I know about that and then not shareing her wisdom with me.

Version 2 of 'Do You Know' plugin is in near completion and it will allow HAL to do just that, use the information gathered to aid in HAL's conversations. I will post it as soon as I am happy with it.

Thanks for using the plugin,

Roy.

P.S. was there any grammatical errors whilst you were using it, I would be interested to find out so I can rectify them in Version 2.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Using Hal to open programs
« on: May 13, 2008, 09:11:17 am »
They are pretty much the same as your version just better structured and written. The write up for them are on the UHEF downloads section, if you need help.
Thanks,

Roy.
