I had something strange happen in People Putty this morning. Normally, in the morph section, when you double click on the morphs, the head will change to that shape. But this one time, i had the clown morph active, and i selected another morph, the clown shape was retained while also adding the shape of the new morph i had selected. I tried all the different morphs, fish, bug, cat, etc. Each time the clown shape was combined with the new shape. I hope i explained that properly.

After restarting PP, i haven't been able to duplicate this behavior. Anyone else ever had this happen? I don't know what caused this, perhaps something to do with click speed or dragging the mouse while clicking. It would be great if we could combine different morphs on demand. For example, fish and cat.

Any thoughts on this by the PP experts here?

After working on some strange creature heads, i had to create something nice to look at. Hair is by NIGE. Her name is Taylor. What do you think?

This is the skin ...

Playing around with People Putty, i managed to get a head character to wear a long dress. Doesn't fit perfect yet. The custom controls for this accessory will work, allowing the dress size to be adjusted. I think this opens all kinds of possibilities for putty heads.

I took the dress made by Freddy and put it in People Putty as "neckwear". The dress moves with the head, but doesn't move independently. It's really funny to drop the dance.hap on this head character.

The dress can be downloaded here -

Share Conversations, Experiences, Graphics / How to make new hair?
« on: August 24, 2009, 09:04:18 am »
Hope i'm posting this question in the proper place. I want to create some new hair for haptek characters, but have no idea how. Is a special program required to create hair?

Well, at least i tried to make it look like her. It's difficult in People Putty to get accurate reproduction of a photo. This is the best i could do.

I decided to try something really weird. This is the result.

I have a plugin for PaintShopPro that generates random robots and aliens. The variety is unlimited. :-)

Here is the skin for Alienoid in case anyone wants to play with it.

I don't know if this is already known, but quite by accident, i discovered it's possible to make hair styles longer, and also to apply hair upside down on haptek head characters. Using this trick, i came up with the extended size head shown below. Not sure how useful this is, but maybe the experts here can make use of this idea. I thought i neat that the standard size head can be made taller. The hair moves just like it was part of the body.

Here is the .hap script i used -

#Haptek Version= 2.00 Name= upsidedown.hap HapType= script FileType= text
##standard

load [file= data/standard/skins/hair6_2EXP.htr]
Scale[figure= hair6_2EXP x= 1.0 y= -1.5 z= 1.2 t= 1]
\translate [figure= hair6_2EXP y= -9 z= 0]

I've been experimenting with Putty faces again, mainly facial structure and clothing. I've learned some interesting facial structure can be obtained by using minus values for some of the odd morphs. Here is my latest project, Rachel.

I'm not very happy with the hair selections in People Putty. Is there any way i can create my own hair styles? I think others can do this, but i don't know how.

I found this interesting site which allows creation of 3d heads, bodies, hair, eyes, clothing, avatars, etc. Men, women, children, or creatures can be created. There are many presets available, or you can even upload your own photo. After just a few minutes of playing with it, i came up with the image below

Now if can just figure out how to convert this to a haptek character with People Putty. This should be of interest to the expert skin makers here.

Here is the link, check it out.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Auto-Idle questions
« on: August 15, 2009, 01:34:35 pm »
Are there any auto-idle plugins that will randomly play .hap files, so that the character will show some emotion while in idle mode?

Another question, are there any auto-idle plugins that are compatable with the DREAMOUTLOUD plugin?

Thanks
Davy

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Random Poetry Generator?
« on: August 10, 2009, 04:15:30 pm »
I am aware there are programs that will generate random poetry. Now i'm wondering if Hal can do something like this. Is there a "Random Poetry Generator" plugin for UltraHal?

That would be quite interesting, Hal creating and reading poems while in idle mode. :-)

Thanks
Dave
