A student with a request
« on: June 14, 2005, 05:23:09 pm »
Hello.

I am 14 years old. I am doing a school project on how AI can be used in the future to aid the elderly, or those that can not help themselves.

I want to get into speach recignition, and other advanced things to keep the elderly active, and to keep mentally challenged people able to keep data in records by talking.

The bad thing is that I wanted to use Ultra HAL as an example, and am requesting a free version of Ultra Hal Advanced v 5.0

I need this because of my unique situation for this project.
Thanks

Why don't you just download the demo?

As the Good Dr said, no reason not to get the demo.

If you really need the speech add on then would your school fund not cover the cost of the program in order to help with your project?...Most schools that I know of are happy to help students in their projects [:D]

I have used the trial version at home, and enjoy it, but they told me they would prefer the full version to be installed.

What does the full ver have that the trial does not? As far as I am aware, it has speech.

I was told though that I could just use a MS Speach SDK and get for free, is that true?

The only differences are that the full version has more characters available and includes the speech recognition plug in (ms sapi 5)

Other than that there are no real differneces...check out

Nice!

I even got my third-party speach to text program to work.

Where can I get more character files?

I love this, it even remembers things... too bad I am saving up for a Nintendo DS (allowance is only $25/wk).

Wonderful what technology can do.

Would be nice if I had a human model for my presentation.

Oh ok.

Do Haptek characters detach like MSAgent ones? I hate the detachment I have from some of the ones I have now that I got to work with UltraHAL.

What exactly do you mean by "detach" ?

The haptek characters are far far advanced compared to msagent characters.
