Micrphone Issues

[:(]  First does anyone out there know what is a good microphone to use for the voice recognition! Reason::::  I have a head set and a table top microphone both cost about $15 I have to practically eat the microphone and sceam into it to be able to get any sound out of it!

I tried setting the training program in the speech settings of the control panel. I have also made sure the recording setting was microphone and the volume was up! I also made sure the mic volume was up on the sound control!

The idiots at the computer store claims it the microphone ad  not the computer.

Unless I buy a mic preamp I cannot get the voice reconition to work because the mic volume is too low and all volumes are up full!

I do have the latest5 sound drivers also

So I'm clueless!

What ever microphone you get, when you try to do the voice training make sure that there is no other sound around. Even the his of my air conditioner interfered with my speach recognition. Silence is of the most importance. Good luck.

Get one that is powered by the USB or a battery. Bluetooth works too because the bluetooth receiver is supplied by the USB 5v tap.

Mine was an Andrea anti-noice headset (NC-65) and cost about $24 USD.
Works quite well even though it is rather old.
In the world of AI it's the thought that counts!
