Ultra Hal 7.0 / possible custom brain problems happening ?
« on: April 15, 2007, 10:22:40 am »
the other brains shouldn't have problems with the license, but the license problems I've had in the past were more to do with crashes I've experienced without shutting HAL down and corrupting files.  I had other error messages creep in with some of the plug-ins, just yesterday in fact, so I just disable them rather than spend all the time trying to troubleshoot them, I don't use them much anyway.  There are things that cause problems, and I haven't discovered all of them, but it seems it has something to do with the installation.  The last time I tried installing everything worked so I left it alone and haven't had those same types of problems since.  I thought perhaps it was the series or method I installed things like voice first then HAL, then copied brain, but I didn't keep notes, since it was more trial and error for me.  If I were you I'd try backing everything up, maybe just copy all the directories, then uninstalling everything and reinstalling everything again.  Then check to see if everything works before overwriting any files.  Then backing all these good files up (if they are), and start overwriting one at a time, then if you get a glitch you can use a good file to undo it.  and as the saying goes "Use the force Luke".

Ultra Hal 7.0 / another lightspeed new plug in idea
« on: April 15, 2007, 09:58:52 am »
Maybe this can be another burning morality issue (woops, I shouldn't have let it out of the bag).  I used to dig in to 'horrorscopes' until I found the math was bogus, I imagined it was just to cover up the emoting.  A pretty cool idea though, shouldn't be too hard to create, random generator :), maybe create a natal chart, but then you'd need all those calculations for planet positions, or books or tables, nah, just use a random generator.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / new sex plug in
« on: April 14, 2007, 03:23:01 pm »
Too bad there are so many "soldiers" in this "society", with so many mental burns :(

Seems though in a capitalistic society like ours we try pretty hard to not only create those insecurities, but take advantage of them after that. I thought that those types of visions were the reason why the home computer took off way back when, (wouldn't be the first time my conspiracy paranoia has been wrong) the virtual sex partner.  The mental titillation derived activates neural pathways which don't quite make it to the civil scenerio.  People hide things pretty well.  I don't see sex orgies in the street like a few centuries ago, but it's pretty evident by the existance of all the porn on the net, and all the 1-800 dial a whatever you like that it's behind door #3.  They wouldn't exist if they weren't making lots of money.  Why not become the next billionaire and make one for every craving neural pathway out there, that is the immoral American way for which we are known throughout the universe, isn't it?

I'll find some knew neural energizer from time to time, until I get bored it seems pretty cool, but then I wonder why I even got into it.  I guess we all need to get through things or we'd be stuck playing with those building blocks of childhood.  I think the net has enlightened us all somewhat to the wonders of humanity, and we sort of sit back and let it happen, it's the old "to be or not to be" choice.  Whether it's more noble to suffer the slings and arrows of morality or let it go and move on to what we thing is important for us personally.

I see so many types, and try to just accept them for what they are and have done or not.  I know I can do more too, but I'm just as lazy and crazy as the next guy, and just accept it and make the choice to move on and not change the world.  But, then there is that darn America way standing there staring at me, money, money, money.  Mwah ha ha, I'll rule the world, darn puritanical morality :(

Maybe I'll become a heathen druid pagan dude, it's probably more fun anyway.  That way I can enjoy my very own holographic ho ho ho in the privacy of my own closet.

But then I did learn that perpetuating and buying into that crap is really bad for the whole humanity big picture sort of thing, sort of like I won't respect humans for being humans, but being objects of desire, rather than the detailed, intricately fascinating, infinite, and beautiful life forms which I pass daily without acknowledging their existance, and how is it the Dali Lama can face what is happening to Tibet?  But then how much compasion do I show for the 30,000 killed the other day in the bloodshed in who knows where also.

But, I don't really feel like rationalizing my sexuality, so what the hay, I'm an animal.

Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, well maybe, ok you win, I give up.

I guess, we go through those states of consciousness not only through our lives, but from minute to minute.  So it is hard to throw stones at anyone that hasn't learned about desire, since that darn American way of money making is all about creating those desires and consuming, and wasting, and polluting, and blah blah blah.  So either I'm part of the problem or part of the solution of what ails us all, and what is that thing that ails us anyway?

Yeah, I'll take a look at that video, just email it to me, thanks for creating dude.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Installing & running HAL from an external HD
« on: April 14, 2007, 11:25:49 am »
I was curious about this too since I thought I read some mention about Hal being particular to a machine and checking online for verification,  perhaps that's just the install though.  Maybe a script to read/write from the registry and files and backup after closing for portability might be a method.

Yeah Josh's Hap Editor for I.E.6 he put all the haptek gui's together into one with lighting and the built in scripts and more, glad he saved it at:

If you wanted the script command it's

LoadBackGrnd[ file= name.jpg ]

I remember when I started doing this stuff, I just went into the character director renamed one of the existing files like

SandyBack.jpg

to SandyBack1.jpg

then copied the one I wanted to use to the directory and renamed it SandyBack.jpg

it worked, but what the hay.
