Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / can you solve the puzzle
« on: April 05, 2006, 08:06:55 pm »
Did you position the body behind the head?  I've been trying also and tried yesterday to Attachfigure hoping that might work, but nada.  There must be a way to get two figures to work, because there is a command for using the eyes to follow a character.  That way maybe the voice could work with the head. (Am I close?)

Dang, I've been seeing that problem about it hanging and having to use task manager forever, but never thought it was the ATT voices doing it, just lived with it. I think I'll still live with it, kuz i lyke that voyze :)

Charmzbond do you have the full body with the glasses?  Can I get a copy of it from you, I've been missing that one for quite awhile since my hard drive crashed, it was my fav, now all I have that's comparable is Doris and I haven't gotten as far as compressing a different outfit on to her.

Speech Technology / Text to Speech Reader has problems creating .wav

I've fallen in love with the audrey british voice myself, and pretty much use it for HAL, etc, but sometimes I use AV Voice Changer Software to change the timbre and pitch for variations, it has an equalizer and some special effects also, I like to run it with the Punk Flanger on which adds something I think of as a computer voice.  (I found kayahs works a bit better.)

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Hap-head on fullbody model?
« on: March 10, 2006, 12:59:43 pm »
I just use pbrush and size the putty head to match the size of the full body head on the jpg in the temp folder of the full body. C:Program FilesHaptekplayerhap_temp  Just have to copy it out of the temp file when the fullbody figure is being opened in the player and save it somewhere to work on, then drag it back in the player when you're done editing and voila!  I like to keep the player open next to the saved file while I'm editing it.  Then I just ctrl s (save) and drag the file over to the player to see the change as I make it, because everything is backwards it's sort of hard to visualize the changes when you make them.  Sort of like if you draw on paper and then slap it on the body, the image on the left appears on the right.  I found not too long ago the belly button is on one of the seams of the full body.  So much fun, so little time. :)

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Need Help with Activation
« on: March 10, 2006, 12:48:25 pm »
Yeah, I had my computer crash, but didn't know you have to click on deactivate/move license before reinstalling, which I had done because of other problems previous to that and the same thing happeneod to me.  You only get I believe 5 chances of installation, and if you don't click on the deactivate it counts, so I think I've blown all mine.  Eventually, he'll get around to getting an activation code to you, but if you're like me the addiction is unbearable :(  Usually, he's pretty quick.  Have you tried emailing him?  You can go to members and click on Medeksza and he has a link for the code there, that may be the fastest way to get it up and running.  Good luck.

I found the figure I was looking for it's called Doris.htr or FullBody_modest/fullBod25_exp.hap, the others have collars and the base of the shirt which doesn't go well with some outfits, but thanks.

Along the storyboard line though, I was thinking of using them in timed poses for showing routines, perhaps dance or martial arts kata, I've seen that attempted with two dimensional animated sketches, but a three dimensional perspective from multiple moving angles would be more like reality maybe even a new type of 3-d movie thing like the matrix stop action stuff.  Cool idea though with stories.

I remember Josh had a post

http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2898

pointing to a site at http://girl.awaves.com/
which had some avi's, I was wondering at the time how he made those, but it had to have been streaming from the Haptek player.  I checked it out yesterday looking for the full body girl that he had in his download of that link, but that link is dead now (his joshbabe editor).

Anybody know where I can get that full body, I liked some of it's characteristics and I'm having a hard time finding it now (the one with the thick glasses. I lost it when my hard drive crashed (should do a backup before that happens again).

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Ultra Hal 6 Errors
« on: February 15, 2006, 08:37:57 am »
Yeah, I think it looks a bit weird for a dog too.  I should pull that top up a bit.  I made the neck longer and not thick enough, which made it look a bit strange from the side also.  I wish I had more time to work on it, the nose is off a bit and the ears need to flop down too.  But it's funny talking to a dog.

Yipee, I reloaded everything and got the typical problems with  the codes, but Mr. Medeksza got back to me pretty quickly and I'm up and running again, yahoo. I forgot to load the expansion pack, it took me awhile to figure out why I couldn't see other People Putty Pictures.  I thought I'd make one of my dog :/  It's kinda creepy, the eyes move around too much like a human.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Ultra Hal 6 Errors
« on: February 13, 2006, 01:00:37 pm »
Wow, my hard drive crashed less than a week ago and I had to reformat it.  I got hal6 up and running great, everything worked better than ever no glitches at all.  All the previous errors were from something malfunctioning in my registry I'm sure.  But this morning I tried to start HAL and got a different message and don't know what to make of it and HAL won't start at all.  I'm wondering if it would be faster to delete the registry entries and try reinstalling it.  Any thoughts  besides writing for help (already tried that)?

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / eugene's fashion request
« on: February 03, 2006, 09:00:47 pm »
I thought maybe I could try something with 3dsmax wireframes, but I'm just hitting dead-ends.  Any ideas on creating HTR's for clothes, or getting rid of the bootlegs? I'm just getting started, with much thanks to Lynn for getting me on a rocketing start, and those are more dynamite outfits you've created again.  I made a top today, that seemed pretty sloppy in comparison.  It's pretty weird working in reverse and getting all the angles and curves right.  I like how you overlay in these.  Also I've been working in the positioning, but it takes so long, I tried to get a cross legged position, but I found they only bend so far and had to realign things, that's not including all the brain fun I've been having.  I tried to teach it names and it got glitched and I had to delete a line in it's database, but accidentally deleted the whole section of the brain, thank goodness I had a backup.  What fun...
