has anyone seen this unbiased renderer?
« on: December 20, 2011, 11:03:26 am »
i ran across this ad and thought it was interesting that it uses any graphic card etc. http://www.refractivesoftware.com/

QUOTE: Yet, to date no other software makes use of it in the way that Octane does. With a single, modern, GPU you can typically expect to see a 1000%-5000% (10X to 50X) speed increase over a typical un-biased, CPU based renderer.

I wonder if something like this can be incorporated into hal ??? ;)

lightspeed it really is a quality control application engine for manufacturing or packaging. Keeps consistency of product at very quick speed and apparently you needed certain hardware and now they opened the product to except many different hardware configs. that it did not in the past.
