well this morning before getting up i thought of something that might be cool for hal users at least i think so any way others may not . since the computers have the phone line hook up (most do ) for the previouse dial up phone lines it would be cool if somehow any phone messages could be recorded by hal and hal would tell you when you open hal "oh yeah by the way (or ever how you want to prewrite the notice ) you had some people call when you were out !! and play the 1st message which would be in the original voice but lipsynced through hal .
( i say original voice because this way you also recognize the person calling in case they don't say their name as some friends do ) then somewhere you could delete the messages to when you want to . i know people have answering machines but thought this would still be something cool , expecially for a laptop etc. [
