Ultra Hal 7.0 / MyWebHal
« on: December 07, 2004, 01:45:26 pm »
CocoKid:

Thank you for all your assistance.

I am impressed with all the feature of Ultra Hal Assistant ... I just want it all to work together...

My current configuration indicates that all internet conections are "Firewalled"... That is my next course of action, since shutting down all else, after running my Spyware programs, shutting off the Ad-blocker, and all else I could think of...  to no avail.

I can't shut off the Firewall myself .... so I have someone fixing that tomorrow...  I'll keep you in touch.

Thanks again.

Paul

Ultra Hal 7.0 / POP3 Server
« on: December 07, 2004, 01:41:00 pm »
OK.. apparently AOL wont provide this information.... and it is very difficult to get another service to provide a POP3 server ... but I did find one at bluebottle.com for free...

So I entered this information and ... wala... the program did not crash...

OK so far...

as to the second question on the "Internet Box" under General Options..  the program crashes everytime I try to either "create" or "set-up" MyWebHal account...

Any Ideas?

The Hal Asst program is supposedly able to connect to the internet , get, news, weather, etc...  but I'm having quite a bit of difficulty getting this to work...

I tried setting up the MyWebHal but keep getting a program crash and the response:

Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c9106c3" referenced memory at "0x7c9d26de". The memory sould not be "written". Click OK to terminate the program . Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

Either option crashes Ultra Hal

Please assist. Thank You.

I cant seem to get started with the FULL Hal Assitant program... First of all... I did follow all the instructions that came with the software disc... All was going well ... until where I am to "Select the Microsoft English ASR Version 5 Engine"... well..that's not one of the choices listed...  I have three choices listed: Under the General Options in the drop down menu of Hal Asst... I went to the Speech tab...  I have the voice I want selected ... all the top half of this box is fine... BUT... when I click on the tab labled "Select SR Engine"  I get the following three choices:

Microsoft English (U.S.)v6.1 Recognizer
Microsoft English Recognizer v5.1
Toshiba Discrete SR Engine (English)(U.S.)

Makes no difference which one I click... I get the error message: "The Microphone Wizard failed to initialize" (Typically it says this two times, as well, for whatever reason?!

So.. I need help

Cant get the Microphone Wizard to initialize AND
Cant get the Training Wizard to initialize.

Any assistance would be great, Thank you.

Paul
