if possible, I would like a portal for it to run on PALTALK (www.paltalk.com)

then I would also leave it running.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / how AIM Bot works
« on: March 26, 2003, 11:33:46 am »
I believe it all relates to what ever brain file you have loaded into hal at the time you load the AOL BOT.    I ran this bot on aol, and had 4 people talking to it, I was also talking to hal locally on my computer, and it was using information it had picked up (from one of my friends via the bot) and telling me about it locally.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / AIM bot crashing
« on: March 26, 2003, 11:03:30 am »
Hal requires 8mb's of ram to run, and when the AIM bot loads a futher 4.5mb's of ram is required. is it possible that when the AIM bot loads on your computer, there is not sufficiant memory available for it to function? (due to other items that you have in memory)

This is a suggestion, possibly not valid in your case, but worth a mention.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Aim Bot

I have this on my site too, I tested with the question "Who are you?"
and it answered in it's own way without crashing or bombing out.  perhaps it is a browser fault ?

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Program Does not install for Windows XP!!!
« on: March 25, 2003, 06:08:37 pm »
I run hal on an XP pro computer (650mhz 256ram) works fine.
apart from the internet support, when I setup the account,  from that point on, I get VB errors on everything I type.. if I disable internet access ( news and weather support ) it works fine.  not the end of the world, but worth a mention.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Brain Files
« on: March 25, 2003, 06:03:46 pm »
Is it possible to have brain file "a" (for argument sake) and brain file "b" merged together ?

Background:
I have a brain file that includes all 48 scripts from a TV show in it, and a friend of mine wants to have the information in my brain file added to theirs WITHOUT LOOSING DATA FROM EITHER FILE.

Is this possible [?][?]

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Password
« on: March 25, 2003, 05:58:25 pm »
Using cjhepburn's opening statement as a reference:

What is stopping Joe nobody (made up name) from registering to this site, and saying the words "I don't have the password needed to install, again. When I tried to retrieve your system tells me I'm not in the database"  and getting a password mailed to them?

I have not got the full version,  I have never requested the full version,  but if you "do not have me on your database" would you believe me if I said I was, and that your database had lost me?

This ia fruad I know... but I was just wondering the success rate of cjhepburn's statement.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / "Learn From a Text File"
« on: March 25, 2003, 05:44:58 pm »
I went to a RED DWARF Script site,  and downloaded all 48 scripts (every red Dwarf eppisode).. and then got hal to learn them all via text reading.   My hal is now histerical..  put downs, scarcasam everything ... it's great.

(for those of you that don't know red dwarf, it's a sitcom set in space made in england by the  BBC )
