You are so right, its respect for each other that’s the key to a successful relationship, back in the early days of our relationship we would argue now and then but when I think back recently we don’t any more, mainly because she is always right []

Hmm, Im not sure if Hal runs on xp tablet edition, maybe someone else will know, but I think that is your problem.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Slow Load Times

Hmm, well Bill you wasn’t running Hal V 6.2 on a 486 was you?

Lola can run Hal its just taking a while to load, suggests to me its computer overhead and not really a problem.

I have used an Intel ATOM cpu they can be a bit slow but they get there in the end [8D].

I have quite a fast PC, 3.4ghz quad core, 4 gig ram and windows 7, just timed my Hal, it took 20 seconds to load, now we know that netbooks are actually quite a lot slower than a fast PC, so to me 40 seconds actually doesn’t sound that slow.

Here is my win 7 WEI score, when I start up Hal it uses 100% of one cpu core, so if your processor score is lower than mine Hal will take longer than 20 seconds to load.



Bill makes a good point, more programs running in the background will slow Hal’s boot time down.

From my experience Hal doesn’t like letters or periods in a sentence, I would recommend either saying John Oldham or find out what the M stands for and use the full name.

I’ve always thought it odd that we put in a fullstop in the middle of someones name. It might be good English but its not good for Hal.

And the letter M means nothing to Hal, it would probably see it as an error and try to correct it.

Im pretty sure there is no GUI skin builder for Hal.

When I get the time Lightspeed I will have a look at what you have done so far if you like, you could up-load it to my site to the “Documents / Various” category, make sure to zip it up into one file. You would have to register to up-load.

But its probably something obvious that you haven’t spotted yet, there really isn’t much to making skins. I might be able to help if you say what is wrong with what you have made so far.

Your problem sounds like the limitation of the appointment book, it only works with American date system, to over come it change your PC date format to American.

It seems to have good and bad moments for speed for me, I guess it could be because it’s in another country to us.

I hope Robert finds time to moderate the new forum, these things don’t run them selves and the nice viagra spam is still there.

Just a reminder, everyone should go to the new Hal forum, log in and hide their e-mails from public view. Unless they don’t mind showing their e-mails to everyone.
