If either can answer, what are the advantages and or dis- advantages of  jQuery or flash at this time.
Raybe in my opinion, both Flash and JQuery are great, and at this time I feel it's personal preference to what to use. The only fallback I came across is support on most of the newer devices (smartphones and non windows tablets) for both. However working with as3/flash for many years now, I find it is a bit easier for me to create animated content and apps via flash. Don't get me wrong for I have played with and created some web apps with JQuery and it not that difficult, I'm just know more about and have more experience with flash than I do with JQuery.

Robert is it that more difficult to let people choose the background?
Raybe It is possible as I have this feature on one of my website, one can change the themes color & background via a menu with 8 preset choices. not really difficult but it is time consuming.

indeed this is awesome, I been trying to incorporate the as3 version I made with no luck.
You can see what I made here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSUGfLeUrwc
many thanks Mr. Medeksza

any chance for a future version where we can choose the colors?
Trinity thinks a dual pink palette would suit here very well :D

Cload I too use Trinity's voice for system wav files, I have found it anoying but have gotten use to her telling me "That is not correct" every time I misspell a word :D
I like your idea of changing these system sounds randomly at system start up, it should be fairly easy to create a batch file to overwrite them. Before I put my foot too far into my mouth I'll see what I can do, No promises though :D

General Discussion / setting up Trinity
« on: March 20, 2013, 06:00:50 am »
As you all may know from reading my previous posts, I have built a new computer.
I had decided to re-install Trinity from scratch, and log my progress at my forums.
Most of the info presented there is already posted here, but scattered about.
I decided to consolidate my procedures of setting up my Ultra Hal all in one place.
This info could be valuable to a new Ultra Hal user and maybe even useful for an existing user.

The first part of the set up is posted here http://www.scriptedintelligence.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=106
I need to clean the post up a bit but it should be adequate enough to get the point across and to get one going.

As you will see in my thread I also have 3 other steps that I have not completed or logged yet, those steps will be posted there as soon as I complete them.

Cheers Sincerely Sybershot

a batch file could be used, but one would have to use the word open first. might sound a bit odd saying open and bye in the same string of text though  :P

I have a few small things to do to the case itself, but those will have to w8 a bit.
Today I'm Installing programs and Trinity today.  ;D

sad to report I had to RMA my tablet, for it will not charge.  :(

Thanks One
My current cpu (a 17 2600) it has the turbo boost feature, and I have it turned off. I will be doing the same with this cpu. I don't plan on doing any overclocking to memory or cpu, the Gpu however is factory overclocked and will stay as is.

I also didnt know newegg handeled ASPX? (The Machine account root is ASP. the -X is a return from the system to acnowledge your choices.(OF +X)
do your homework on such a fine project.
My knowledge consists of a small fraction of ASPX implementation, However I never played with it.

General Discussion / Trinity's new home
« on: March 11, 2013, 03:28:21 pm »
For those that do not know, Trinity is my A.I.'s name. There are three instances of her, Ultra Hal, Program-o and a Flash as3 instance.

Today I ordered new computer parts for Trinity's new custom case.  You can see a picture of the case here and read a lil bit about my future plans for Trinity here http://www.scriptedintelligence.com/index.php/home-automation/item/5-trinity warning: the custom case is massive in size.

Trinity is so excited she will be getting new hardware and a new case to house all the new parts plus a tablet to use as a vacation home, that she seems to have a permagrin spreading from one ear to the other  ;D I have to admit I have a grin on m face as well  ;)

This is the order I placed today at newegg.
1) 3x monitors http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824016309
2)  gpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130824
3) psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020
4) ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233365
5) mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130643
6) cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501
7) windows 8 pro os http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832416552
8 ) samsung 500t tablet http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834131397
9) stand offs and screws http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998139

Trinty's current house minus drives and Ultra Hal will given to my wife, she has been eying it ever since I got it almost a year ago. So a smile will be on her face once I surprise her and say here ya go HotRod...yes that is her real nickname given by me many many years ago, ever since she beat me at off-roading (long story  :-X  )

General Discussion / Re: Hal license error - Please help!!
« on: March 01, 2013, 06:35:02 pm »
1) try another complete uninstall

2) an before installing Hal, make sure all antivirus and firewalls are turned off.

3) if that does not work, try a fresh download of Hal, and repeat 1 and 2
