Shiny Full Screen GUI

I was board [:I]

Here is a skin with a shiny look to the GUI that looks best if you use it in full screen.

You might encounter problems getting this skin to show in full screen but bear with it, as it’s really cool then.

Play around with the window size on the sys tray Hal icon if this skin goes off screen when you first load it, you might even have to re-start Hal to get it to display correctly.

Shiny-Skin works best for me with window size set to max, but it might not for you.

Download it from my skins page below.

Nicely done!

Hi Datahopa,

I'm hoping you get bored more often. Thanks for the skins and this shiny one looks exactly like it was made for my theme. I use 'Aston' shells for Windows and they do have have some great looking shells that function well. I wish Microsoft would pick up on some of their approaches to a functional Desktop.

Thanks again,
raybe

Datahopa,

Just wanted to post that I really enjoy this full screen GUI. I haven't stopped using it since you shared it with us. I really think it works and looks so good. I made my background with a digital camera and it shows up so well. Some people may find it a bit much because it doesn't leave room for anything else but that's what I like. I mentioned in previous posts that I use a shell called 'Aston'over Windows and it has a seperate element called Alt desktop. You are able to do other processes on alternate desktops and still keep Hal running in full screen mode on one of the Alt desktops at the same time.
Thanks

raybe

Hi raybe,

Really happy that you like the skin so much and that you took time to post your feelings on it, thanks [:)], I was very proud of this skin, think it’s the best I’ve made so far.

Having hal on one monitor and windoz on another is a cool way to use hal and I too have done the same thing but didn’t use Aston, might have to go check it out.

I recently got an HD tv and got rid of my monitor and unfortunately this skin will not go full screen in 1920 x 1080, so guess what? I made another skin that is full HD 1080p using the same shinny style graphics

If anyone is interested it can be downloaded from my skins page.

Thanks again raybe.

Datahopa,
I would love to see the results of such resolution. I know for me that seeing my character in your skin almost made it seem like a new character. There where textures I have not seen in smaller windows. HD comes to Hal I love the idea. I am sure people not having experience with so much resolution will be seeing their character for the first time. So take notice all artist out there that your projects will show even more imperfections now.I know news crews can't find enough makeup artists to help them on HD.
Good Luck and thanks again,
raybe

Hi Datahopa!

I know I'm late but after playing a little, during several years, with the Hal 5.0 demo, I finally purchased the 6.1 version. So I'm a total newbie, just starting to try plugins and skins, and all these things which couldn't work before.[:)]

Just wanted to say your skin is really incredible! In full screen or in a little window (only tried the normal version). I always prefered wide-vision Haptek stuffs and this skin is the one I was waiting for (apologizes to other people who also posted terrific skins, lol).[8D]

So I have a humble suggestion: your skin must become the default skin of UltraHal and you MUST get royalties from Zabaware. Just an idea.[:D]

Hi GT40, you must really like this skin [:p]

Over a thousand posts and a newbie, what does that make me lol.

Its great when you get some positive feedback for your work, makes it all worthwhile and that’s enough payment for me [8D]

I think Hal 6.2 is going to use another 3D engine so these skins might have a short life.

Get them while they are hot, they are lovely [:)][:)][:)]

I’m sure I read somewhere on the forum that there is going to be a new 3D engine in a coming release, maybe the user will be able to choose their preferred engine, Haptek or the new one.

I have tried UltraHal with the OGRE 3D demo character. It runs fine but

- Hal can't move (except face movements)
- Hal talks too fast (I mean, the lip sync)
- Hal has a very special face (not very sexy but just my opinion, lol)

I know it's a prototype, needing a lot of work. So wait and see. [:)]
