sound quality bad?
« on: March 18, 2011, 08:03:31 pm »
I'm having problems with the text-to-spech defaults on my computer. the sounds come out disjointed and crackle-ey for ALL provided voices up to the point where they can only be understood if you're reading the text along side it.

i'm not sure what i support i must provide, but i'm running on vista, have had no other sound issues with my pc, have never done any other text-to-speech programs previously and have also installed the text-to-speech ready in the hopes that would fix this problem.

any support appreciated.

Was it a Realtek onboard sound card?

If not, can you tell us which card it was, it might help others.

it was a IDT HD Audio Sound CODEC it read as on my pc scan. it's an inbuilt motherboard chip. The problem was just that the driver needed updating, because windows got confused and auto-updated a driver that only partially worked. I was just lucky all this time and only just now discovered the issue.

a simple driver update fixed this.
