What chance is there that a Linux compatable version of Ultra Hal could be made available?

I was wondering about that too since I have a
virtually empty Linux box.
Have you tried to use WINE?

No.  What is WINE?  Do you have any other data that would be helpful on this question?  Anyone?

I thought it came with most distro's, but I believe it stands for Windows Emulator.  I haven't used it so I'm not sure of its 100% compatibility that they claim.

Ok, I get it.  WINE is a program that supposedly makes Linux systems able to run Windows programs.  Right?

Well, I wouldn't know if my system has WINE or not, because I just bought the computer on eBay, and haven't received it yet.  I should get it sometime this week.

But, yes, I took the big leap and jumped into Linux on this purchase.  I've always run Winxx before.

Superman,
You're going to have to read, learn and
rethink things a bit as Linux works pretty
nicely, but with a cost. Most of your Win
progs may not run as expected if at all.
There are some really good replacements
like OpenOffice (works like Word, Excel,
etc.), some really good browsers and
email programs. It come with more "stuff"
than you can digest in a week.

Folders and files are very similar but drive
naming conventions are a bit different and
may take a little getting used to (drive 0,
drive 1 instead of C, D, etc.)

My linux bos is remarkably stable having
run for several months without requiring a
reboot!

Linux security is another strong
area. (Some say that Linux computers don't
get attacked by virii because not too many
people use a linux based platform). OK, well
that's good for Linux users I guess <G>.

Give yourself some time (if you're not already
familiar with Linux and you're be pleasantly
surprised.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Good luck,

I was wondering if there had been any developments towards a Linux Hal?[8)]
