I think that you may wish to check out LUA script. It is a very powerful and free scripting language, even if you use it for a commercial application it is free, as long as you give them credit somewhere for their work. I know you are currently using VBscript, but LUA is worth at least taking a look at. With LUA I have a script that some friends helped me with that I can push a button on my remote and retrieve the weather for my city from the web in a matter of seconds. It's great.

Anyway, enough outta me for now. :D

Financially speaking, an adult or love version of Hal would do very well. Specially considering all the failed attempts on the part of other programs. Corner the market you would... [:o)]

Robert Medeksza,

I must say, this is a very nice program. Congrats.
I noticed that when you talked about a database, you didn't specify which one.  Will you be using SQLITE(http://www.sqlite.org/)?
Here is my reasoning:
1) The database file is one file. It is easily transported from one computer to the next. I would love to see the complete brain in one SQLITE file that can be moved from work to the house by taking the database file with you.(on a thumbdrive, perhaps)
2) SQLITE is free to use, personal or commercial. No hidden costs.
3) SQLITE is platform independent.  Can be used in Windows, Linux, MAC, etc.  It would greatly speed up the process of creating HAL for Linux.  A text version of HAL, in Linux, could use a SQLITE file in no time at all.

(no, I'm not affiliated, just use SQLITE)

Thanks for you time, and consideration.

Joseph

Thanks Robert!
I can't wait to see that!
But in the meantime 5.0 is good enough for now!
