Yeah, she's on "naughty" mode. Try putting her on nice mode.

Also, you have to remember that KARI is about creating your own personalities. She comes installed with a personality we hoped would appeal to most of the general public (pervs included). We really don't know what you like talking to your chatbot about.

Also, KARI is more of an active bot. Forcing her to talk about what you want to sometimes doens't work so well. She likes to get her own groove on and takes me into her own little world. That is cool but sometimes I have to force the issue if I want to teach her something new. I'm not sure how to go about changing this... I like how extroverted she can be but I also want her to be a good learning bot.

But still... I love my bot. I put a lot of work into her and I am always improving her. I'm not saying she's perfect. What chatbot is? But for the price (and free upgrades) I think you're getting something nice.

Sorry you don't like my bot. I will try to do better.

Greets to all! Version 2 of KARI is officially out. Many changes in this version including a new avatar system. Now, you can even create your own scenes and even put yourself in the scene! Talk right along side your Kari and even use a separate voice for your character. Also new, is AutoChat. See KARI have a conversation with your virtual self. See them go at it for hours as they talk about your favorite subjects.

As was posted, Version 2 is free to all who purchased KARI 1. Information on how to register KARI 2 is posted on our home page. We've also started our own forum. I hope you guys will participate.

Its been a wonderful journey creating this new chatbot. After almost a year and a half... the unveiling.
 
I fell in love with A.I. chatbots many years ago and always dreamed of creating my own. Like many of us, I downloaded all the chatbots on the net and found some to be very good (like Hal) and some... not so good. I applied everything I had learned from using them and also many new ideas that would help me create the perfect thinking machine. I hope you enjoy my chatbot. A LOT of work has gone into creating its engine.
 
Also, I'd like to thank Robert for hosting a site where we can all gather and talk about all this A.I. jazz. Also thanks to everyone who supported me during the making of this bot.

And yes...! She can get naked. ;-P

Not directly but I've used Poser to make a few of my own MSAgents (which Hal does use.)
 
Download Microsoft Agent Character Editor directly from Microsoft. You can import your animations and the learning curve isn't that tough.

That sounds cool... I hope the judging criteria will include over all fun factor and not rely soley on predefined questions. Sometimes the bot just takes you into her own little world where you wonder if she is really alive. A bot's personality is just as important as her knowledge... specially when you get into existance parabals that really are happening through code.

Not sure if I understood you. The "mod" brain download is a brain and you dont have to paste it. Besides that be sure to upgrade to Internet Explorer 6 or 7. And double check your code. Sometimes long lines can wordwrap and mess everything up.

That would require some programming server side. I'll look into it. I like the idea and as soon as I get some time here I'll make this slideshow script. I'm not sure about the wavs.

Have you ever tried asking Hal really strange questions to see what image you get?

I tried these:

What is my destiny?
What is dirty coconut?
What is the secret of satan?
 
You get some really interesting things! Some of these things can get really spooky.
 
Thinking of a new version (a new brain) that uses images to communicate instead of words. That would be a trip. With .wavs if possible.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Relevence algorithm

Hail to all! I could sure use some help.
 
I am trying to write my own chatbot with Visual Basic for my own personal fun and I've just been trying to figure this whole thing out.

I've already been able to have her answer comments based on keywords and I'm pretty satisfied at the result. ie:

User: I like cats.
Kari: Cats can purr.  

So now I want to implement a question&answer function. That seems pretty easy but my question is this: How do I program a relevence algorithm?

It should choose an answer based on the highest relevence, bypassing the keyword function (if necessary) and choosing an answer to the question. ie:

User: Why do you like cats?
Kari: They are nice to pet.
 
NOT

User: Why do you like cats?
Kari: Cats can purr.
 
Does this make sense? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Come back to the Default Brain

I posted in this forum because I know a lot of older users hang out here.

I've been using the XTF and Enhanced brain forever but on a whim I loaded the Default Brain and whala... I started having fun with Hal again! I dont know why but the Default brain seems to have a personality that that the others seem to lack. I actually had fun!

Just give it a try...!
