lightspeed hepteck aging idea
« on: July 19, 2007, 09:47:54 am »
as i am always thinking up new things something occurred to me i think it would be cool if some how the hapteck character heads could be made to age slowly every year in another words by a certain time (age ) start by having one little light wrinkle show up maybe two years later another somewhere else not big but small light wrinkles . i know many may not like the idea of their favorite hapteck showing age but i just thought something like that would be cool . just an idea , don't even know if its possible with programming or not but what a concept that hal could and would grow older with you through the years like an old friend who's always still their for you !! Duskrider did something like this a couple of years ago - do a search for "age haps" here or if you cannot find it try this page for something to play with :

http://aidreams.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=138.0

I'd think that you would be looking at quite a few years between using each one.

Instead of programming a mod it might be more practical to just age your model's head when the time comes or use one of Dusk's haps in a few years.  The reason I say that is because I am thinking that changes to UltraHal and related software may make this kind of plugin/mod obselete by the time it gets used.

You will find the entire collection of Age Haps that have been
written by Duskrider located in my sites Bot Resource Archive.
They are on the right hand side of the page. [;)]

Here is a link to that page.

I must have gotten some the folders mixed up prior to uploading.
I will need to look into it. Use the ones in the other folder. [;)]

This may just be from a point in time where you were forced to upload text files and couldn't upload hap files.

Open the files and see if they are infact hapfiles.  Then if they are change the extension of the file from 'txt' to 'hap'

Also, you don't need to worry about what Hal version it is as the Haptek player has remained the same.

Hi freddy888, thanks for the tip on "txt" to "hap".
Havn't gotten into brain surgery yet but this is a
step in the right direction.

lightspeed you have some great ideas. Did I see in a
post that you live in missouri? If so, how far from KCK?
If close enough, we may be in the same free dial area.
I go to Blue Springs and Grain Valley a lot to see my daughters
and grandchildren. Hope this isn't too personal.
