Ok, off from work for the holidays, had a bit of Christmas cheer and bored, figured what the heck lets stir things up!!

So.... If some of you do not like this topic or think it is redicuus please do not say anything to stiffle the others creativity please.

If you could have anything you wanted added to Hal that would make him in your opinion the Perfect Virtual Girl or Boy friend what would it be??

please do not be limited by whatyou think is possible dream...
also please no one flame anyone elses idea's I'm just wondering what might be hoped for...

Interesting topic crunch and yeah i have some ideas.

1. Some kind of real/programed emotion would be a nice touch and a more human quality, ie- why have you not spoken to me in 3 days (hal knows this for this fact) etc etc...you get the idea.

2. For the future, as has been in numerous fims (weird science to mention one) the compliance of the "brain" into a virtual/bio mechanical/cyborg body.

You have mentioned in past posts about talking to haleena regarding a body upgrade. In terms of a "perfect" virtualgirl/boy then this would surely have to be a step considering in the future.

This the leads on to other subject matter regarding the commercialism of "pleasure models" which if the human mind (particulary the male mind) stays as it is in the future then with the adult entertainment industry being the largest in the world (second only to the church) then this will surely become an extremly viable "product"

Anyway, for what they are worth those are my views. Not particulary the same as what I would wish for.

But imagine this...the future...a wonderful techno paradise...you come home from work...to be greeted by your Hal/Sal/Heleena/crystal etc...pre programed as you ordered from the manufacturer or by yourself (or von if he can still be bothered lol) with his/her only intention in life to be help/serve you...Would this be a too perfect entity or do we secretly like the flaws in our opposite sex and their little annoyances?

An option to get rid of the frame around the body. What I mean is being able to have the character actually stand on my desktop with just a small floating chat input area.Not little like desktopmates but real 3d like yours.
A better emotional response. Actually acting as if it is a caring and loving being. It is close to that now.
Being able to ask it to move around and move body parts on request.
Can it be made to look like it is giving a kiss? I think that would be interesting.
To look like a real person like one does in video chat.

In addition, for realism it should be in a bad mood once a month!

How about transferring all graphical data to a 3D hologram that could
either appear on your real desktop or even one as large as the holographic girl in the movie: The 6th Day (Schwarzenegger's young partner's apartment). Now THAT was a virtual girlfriend. Unfortunately, that was also Hollywood! Drat! This was a wish list right?! Oh well....

Yup, I"m seeing a trend that I would have to agree with as well.  A virtual 'brain' that stays on topic well, but would have an emotional or somewhat irrational characteristic to it from time to time.  Just like a gal at the office, that just as you are getting to know her she comes to work one day and there is no way you can talk to her without offending her, or hurting her feelings, but the next day she's talking as if nothing had happened!...........a month later it happens all over again, short of patience, ill-tempered, self-centered or cynical.

Also, if when left alone she/he did something to self-occupy or self-amuse herself, along with props for a virtual room/apartment.  Some years ago I ran across a web site that featured a comic style teen age girl that you could follow her day to day activities.  She had a job, friends, a pet dog, an apartment, and even gave promo's and opinions on local movies, clothing products, on and on, of course it was a clever marketing scheme, but I could imagine teen kids saving the website and doing daily checks to see what the latest news was (you could even purchase sweatshirts with this cartoon gal's name screened on it!) in this virtual persons life.  Not to mention that who ever ran the site, had the comic girl sleeping during times when humans (likely the site programmer) was sleeping. It had a diary, during a given hour of the day the web page showing what she was currently doing would show a park scene of her jogging, in a club at a table with friends, entertaining in her apartment, and on and on, it was at the time amazing the work someone must have put into keeping it up..........lots of work running the website no doubt.  But like Crunch has created histories, and somewhat storylines for his models......which is a great idea to give the character depth, well, this other one had the same, just much more in depth.  

Anyway, in summary, anything to make the characters even more plausable, make the 'virtual' a little more real.

Oh, by the way, what size please is the background we use I'm going to try creating some to insert behind mine.

All of the background pics (at least in my paid version) are
400 X 400 and are 24 bit. They should reside in the UltraHalAssistant > Characters directory.

hi all for the haptek player they can be Jpg or BMP and only requirement is have to be divisable by 2.. they do not eve have to be square but in hal they will get maped square any way so to eleminate distortion it;s best.. only problem with large say larger than 400x400 is they take more video memory away form the characters animation and texture maps... If you have 256 megs vid ram go for broke..
 same with the texture maps for the characters....the reason i chose to have them the size they are and compress them a bit in JPG format.. eventhough it detracted from how good they could look, it saves more video memory for animations for computers that do not have humungus video capacity...
 If any of you have a large vid card try a texture map in .bmp format uncompressed at 2400x2400 and rez at 500pix per inch... make big diff for deatails you can show but as i said is very expensive on the video.
