Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Ultra Hal 7.0.110 Update
« on: September 03, 2018, 11:34:25 am »
ok, never mind. I assumed, that, when I clicked on the button, it would download and install itself without human intervention. Like my cell phone does. Like Windows does. Like my browser(s) do. Silly me... (refer to "power of human stupidity" quote below.)

INstalled update and it's working fine, as far as I can tell.

Thanks, Robert.

Robert,

I shut my computer off at night. Third morning in a row, it asks if I want to update (same update every time.) This isn't normal, is it? otherwise, Hal seems to be working fine.

I figured it out! It was a plugin that ive been using since Hal 6.2. It weird how it started responding like that after the upgrade. Any ways i was able to fix it! Thanks for all the help!

So, which plugin was it?

Jack,
is there a "terminator" skin? If not, that would be cool!

Isn't the voice training a Microsoft thing, and totally separate from HAl?

Well I hope that Sandee hasn't been cow-tipping again!

You could make a separate "brain" file, and send it to another user to add to, and keep sending it back and forth to fill it up with different knowledge. That way you wouldn't need to send the whole program, and it would work just as effectively.

will,
how did you manage to get Data to respond to spoken commands? how do you interface the Ultrahal program with your Data hardware?

some of the body like the face or the hands and frames or junk i've sculptured mostly came from the Nelson Recycle Centre which is in New Zealand.

The motors and controllers i got from www.tribotix.com
i started with the bioloid kit, i remember going to the movies in 1978 and seeing c3p0, its been a bit of a wait for the technollogy.

Hal can open a program and that had got Mr Data to activate a physical action form a voice comand.
since my latest upgrades to data i've been focussing on understanding that.
say Hi to tribotix from me,
Bye for now and be well from Will and Mr Data [:D][:D]

Will,
What are you using for a "BODY", it kind of looks like an off the shelf type thing, but I don't know for sure.

Two legged walking is extremely difficult, you may want to put him in a chair with wheels, that would be much easier and consume less power.

What are you using to control the body? Is there a plugin for HAL?

Nice work,

General Discussion / ER1 ROBOT
« on: October 26, 2007, 03:58:30 pm »
Bill,

You say there are several of us who have ER1's running a Hal brain as well. And they talk to each other? forgive me if I misunderstood you, but this seems like the one thing everyone is looking for, a way to interface a sophisticated AI like Hal with a mobile robotic platform! Have you done this yourself? Can you share details?

thanks,

Robo-Dave

Am I out of line, here? Or is Bill being overly sensitive? I'm completely mystified, as I thought we were having an intelligent discussion. I guess he took his bat and ball and went home.
