No voice/s available after installation of Hal Reader
« on: February 19, 2013, 11:39:33 pm »
After installing Hal Reader 10.5 from download link, a voice does not appear in the drop menu on the main interface. Text is read in a female, robotic voice and I can adjust volume/pitch/speed. I am running Windows 7 64-bit on a Asus laptop. I have tried reinstalling multiple times. I have used the Setup.exe and Ulta Hal....msi to install and had the same result. The instmsiw.exe gives an error message saying that is the wrong OS to open it. When I try to convert text into a wav file I get a run-time error 5 message, which I believe may be the result of not having a voice selected.

Attached is a screen shot.

Try to install this 64-bit compatibility fix:
http://www.zabaware.com/download/Zaba64Compat.exe

Let me know if that fixes it for you.
