Post by: Skazz on June 18, 2004, 01:12:10 pm
I am working on a Head Which i plan to use for hal. First i need a SMall Harddrive to hook upinside the head for hal, but im not sure how to go about this without hooking up a full computer. ANy one know any SMALL Portable Hard drives that can be hooked up only for SOund/mic and running hal? I'll post a picture fo the head when im more finished

It will take a bit of fussing as far as the connections
but there are small hard drives that measure 7 x 10 x 1 MM
(slightly larger than a pack of cigarettes but half as thick).

Look for laptop hard drives from Toshiba and WD. for
starters. Check out www.pricewatch.com

Good luck,

Skazz,
Check out:http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1103-5082712.html

Via has a new board out that's a mere 4.7 inches square.

Also look into some of the various robotics sites. A lot
of the builders use pretty small MB's in their construction.

I'm not really up on the wiring for those laptop HD's but
I'm sure the answer's on the net somewhere!
