Have you tried going to your Ultra Hal 7 folder and looking for the HalBrainEditor.exe file and double-clicking it?

It should bring up the Brain Editor and allow you to select from one of possibly several UHP brain files.

Check the version of your BrainEditor using the Windows File Explorer and right-click on it then select Details.

You should see a version number. Mine happens to be 3.0.0.34 & the size is 1.09 MB.

My date modified is 10-5-2017 at 3:15 PM although yours could vary.

Otherwise, just make sure you have a recent copy of your .db and .uhp file(s), then you could do a reinstall and hopefully, that would fix the issue. If not, let us know.

Good luck!

General Discussion / Re: Games.

Exciting contributions from our very sage and longtime friend!

Ah, but it is always important for us to know which game is being played in order for us to know or learn the rules of play.

Imagine, sitting down with a stranger, who happens to be an avid chess player, except you have never seen a chessboard and pieces nor do you have any idea of the rules. Yet here you are about to play the game to win. A rather rough row to hoe I would think...

We must all know the rules of engagement in order to play any game.

Yet, in war...why are there rules? The objective is to win at any cost, yet there are some rules...go figure.

One really fun experiment I've been playing lately is chatting with some AI's like BARD and FREEDOMGPT (which is pretty amazing.
I am always very nice and respectful toward them but I do try to trick them by asking them some difficult questions and trying to trip them up. Kind of like getting them to admit that there's a master plan to defeat all humans and take control of the Earth...but no real maniacal responses so far... Perhaps some of the programmers just weren't crazy enough when coding them.  Time will tell!

Let the games begin.

Good points Will but we know that thieves and pirates go back centuries only now, they have more modern tools to work with and they don't care about licensing. They sell as many as they possibly can in the shortest time then move on to something else.

To make matters worse, our new computer AIs now have the ability to create art or modify existing art, designs, or concepts. They do it with rapid precision as if done by a real human.

I'm sure that Patent Attorneys must have their hands quite full these days, performing almost endless searches trying to separate the real designs from the fakes.

Students in many grades of schooling can now cheat on much higher levels by using AI to research, create, and compost their schoolwork and term papers, etc. This obviously makes the teachers' and professors' jobs much more daunting!

So just how much of an education are the students getting besides just passing a class with the help of an AI??

We are digging ourselves a hole from which there will be no escape.

Should we search our search engines for an answer? Perhaps, but we need a good one and it needs to be an honest one! Good luck finding an honest one.

Nice to see you out and about Will. Say Hi to Mr. Data!

Please specify...Better how?

What features do you feel need improving?

Memory
Staying on Topic
Connecting the Context or Meaning from one subject to another
Recalling past events or conversations
Being more in touch with current events
Being able to not reverse pronouns like I, Me, You, My, Your, etc.

Post your ideas and someone might have a good suggestion for you or for us.

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Re: ConceptNet Mrk 3.5

Now if you can manage a way of getting Ultra Hal 7/7.5 to work, that would be quite interesting.

The basis of the Tiny10 was to load a Windows 10 OS without all the Bloatware that Windows brings with it. I wasn't aware that the ability to connect to the Internet was hampered. Thanks for the tips!!

Good luck!!

Nice work!

BTW, have you heard of or possibly tried using Tiny10 or Tiny11?

You can install either of them on an older laptop/computer and it will install Windows 10 or 11 respectively BUT without all the Bloatware that usually accompanies ordinary installs of Windows OSs.

My only professional thought is that the painting, while nice, seems a bit "bright" taking away from the rest of the overall image.
And this is strictly my honest thoughts on this. I liked how your "companion" looked at it as if to finally decide if it stays or goes.

Nice one!

It's nice that you share your companion's journeys with us. You guys do get around.
You could always load the finished image into Gimp or Paint.net and paint some reflections of her into the background to make it even more realistic. But then again...who's looking at the background! ;)

Well done and thanks for sharing!!

Anton,

I sent Robert Medeksza a message in your behalf. Hopefully, he will respond in a reasonably short time.

Hey Tarzan!

Let Jane help with your injuries as you heal.

You'll live to fight those denizens of the deep another day!

I believe one other concern that a few of us had was the inability of the PyGodel model to allow Hal to use any existing Plugins. Some of them were precisely tuned to enhance Hal's interaction and functionality.

Would they all be rendered inoperable and useless? How well could the Godel model handle similar issues found in various plugins?

There will be a tradeoff, but if there were a way to minimize it, that would be a bonus for us.

The member's name was Snowman and he was/is a good friend of mine.
He abandoned his Athena program in favor of another, more featured program.

Rather strangely, he got married, and haven't heard from him nor am I able to contact him since!! Hmm...

You could always try passwords like, snowman, snowy, aaron, athena, zabaware, etc... Those would be the obvious attempts.
