To have npc  track convo's with you it would have to store the converstion markers on your charater/machine similar to how they do today but it would be much heavier and may cause a lag as the server gathers info from your saved dialogs. I think almost that your Char would carry the NPC's Hal persona but the NPC it self would be only a mouth piece...

I can see being in a groups and seeing so many dynamics at one time, one player stole from him another player flirted with his wife another saved his daughter from an oger and he would in dealing with the group have to take his personality and each of the histories and go thru a conflict resolution to find out how he would deal with your group.... it would be a very interesting set of equations.

That would be cool as the NPC weights out the different players and who has the most effect on him turns the whole dialog different ways put a whole spin on role playing vs hack and slash.

General Discussion / SSD and Memory usage

I did a few search here and could not find a topic that spoke directly about the usage of a SSD for Hal and what the usage is and the memory and CPU hits are as Hal grows.

I have on my Hal system dual Quad core 3.0 xeons 16gb of memory 74gb sas 15000rmp drive and putting hal on my 125gb SSD drive all by himself. Still have not Named him. Jarvis is the nisk as of right now as im testing him.

This is an ol dell t7400 I resuced from PC salvage.

do any of these stats directly effect Hal and should i increase  any thing?

It would be interesting to Hal had a show me mode. where if it had a training button where you give a command if it failed to comply you could hit a show me button and do the task manually and Hal would record the steps/macro and save it with that command string so next time it would preform the task as shown...

Of course im new so may be does do that...

the Cad system is Solid Works. so not open source.

What we hope to do is ask Hal to open the program "Solid Works, Open"  and then once that is donr "load Assembly" "Change Directory" "Number #####, Load" "Start New Assembly" or "Start New Part" "Choose Plane XY" "Start Sketch" .....

Ironman "Jarvis" is our Hal Role Model.

I am also wonder how Hal handles a Remote desktop session does he need to be present on remote machine or can he thru the interface run apps there as well?

Hello First Post. I hope i'm not stepping on this post...

I am looking for a program that I can fine tune to my Cad application. I have a friend who has been injured and is unable to use his hands for 6 months and I hope i can program hal to help him during his down time.
is this possible?
