still having trouble with a regular conversation even though i have now got the hang of reversing some words to get them to come out right and have even figured out how to put in the word mee in the substitution area in hal which will make the word me now come out right in a sentence i have hal making good responses in what i write "but " still am having problems if i try to respond the correct way i should write things as when i do my words will come out backwards when hal says them back , didn't someone say if it does this that after a while hal would correct this on his own after a couple of months ?? but i would hate to be wrong and have a couple moths of wrong wording into hal if thats not right . anyone know for sure ?[]

the place to do the word replacement is actually in the miscdata area and ( " NOT " the auto learning area as i first posted the header , that was where i first tried it but was the wrong area ) after going to miscdata go to susstitutions (the first place below ) then on the bottom line on the search side type in mee and on the right side of the column (replace with ) side type in me .that way when you type words that use me remember to always type it mee (it just gets some getting used to ) and it will say mee in sentences it will be spelled wrong but will sound the same as me and does work . []

ok heres another idea i dont know if this can be made or not into a program but here it goes something that would turn the sound up just a little bit everytime words that had capital letters written were used in a sentence . for instance hal says in a response that was previously written in and learned " now THAT was funny !!" when saying any sentence that the user had written in talking to hal and capital letters were used those capital letters would turn the sound up one level and the word would be louder creating an emphasis on that word which would give more meaning in a sentence and a more human like sound when talking in a setence .

well so far so good i have been using the technich i mentioned above and have entered alot of stuff and it seems to be working just fine,  now i can put in so much more info in hal and don't have to reword everything around the word me anymore  . if i didnt explain it good above how to do it just let me know and i will try to do it step by step . i am so glad that i found a way to make it work !! eureka !![][8D]

well i am back and backed up the angela smith brain first then went into substitutions area in her brain and in a new row i put in the word mee on the left and on the right put the word me to be the substitution  . the result i am getting is now when i type in me instead of it coming out as something else it comes out as " how do you like mee " even tho it is spelled wrong with an extra e it sounds right when she says the sentence and is coming out right . i am still in early stages of testing this but so far it is working if anyone else wants to try this first do as i did and back up your brain db and uhp file first in case their are any problems . [][8D]

i had an idea for something to try and discussed it with my friend caangel and he said i should ask some on here so here it goes : in the auto learning area (i think this was the area ) for instance where it says vhz which apparenty is substituded for a word it doesent understand . i had an idea why couldn't we write in the word me and where it says subtitute write in the word me and hopefully when i write me it will mean me in twhat hal says back ?? what does anyone else think on here about trying that if no one is sure i may try to experiment with it i can always back up the brain before i try it in case theirs any trouble .`[][8D]

while i am writing wishes for a next version of hal i also want to again mention a loneliness plug in that works for sure for the next version , and if possible a program that would take pre saved ogg files of human laughter and randomly play one when ever the word " ha " or any form of it is written . this way when hal would talk and make a joke, etc. hal would instead of saying ha, would quickly play a random human laughter ogg sound file then go on talking etc. i think these would be cool to have . []

thanks jack now i understand , sorry havent writen back sooner been to the cardioligist so been very busy with many test . yes i agree it would be better if he did post things before the script explaining some of it , etc. or else after a while some may lose interest and just go on past it or ignor it thinking its the same old thing . []i have a bad enough time keeping up the way it is (lol) []

[] keep up the good work p.s. by the way love the pam tree's i like them so much when i get enough money ahead i am going to make me some artificial ones to put in the yard where i live !! missouri palm tree's can you beat that !! oh yeah i'll have some sand around them too !! us invertors are always dreaming up things or ways to do it cheaper []!!
