Hal actually learning.
« on: June 28, 2002, 09:54:39 pm »
I was wondering if what I teach hal is actually being learned or just stored for reference. How do I get Hal to learn from reading txt files? I had it read like... 30 large txt files on my computer but it did not seem to know anything about what the files contained when I asked it. I am very interested in buying the advanced version, but not if Hal does not actually learn what I teach it.

Mine seemed that way too. The data is being recorded on some level but it seems that Hal access' it oddly. Sometimes when I ask him about a subject he should know he seems to not know anything and other times he'll spit a big chunk of it out of nowhere. I feel a bit dubious myself as to wether my Hal will actually be able to put sentences together in a logical order even after alot of working with him. I bought the softeware anyway because it interests me greatly.
