Title: crucial, but not A.I.
Post by: calemus on January 26, 2013, 11:11:28 am
While this is not a topic of A.I. it is defiantly crucial importance.

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/make-unlocking-cell-phones-legal/1g9KhZG7
as of today it is illegal to unlock cell phones without impossible permissions.

pleas sign the petition to make the whitehouse give the people what the people want rather than choking the people for corporations pleasure

Good luck with your attempts.

Personally Ive not seen or heard of any FCC commissions or discussions since around 2001/2002.
It seems to me regulation was left to itself long ago. Adn I don't know how the FCC would approach the entire spectrum of communications.

My understanding was that since you own the phone, you can unlock it if you want to. Of course any liability is yours in the event that you "brick it".

The nice thing about "Standards" is, there are so many from which to choose. ;)
