Problem with hals talk useing
« on: September 24, 2005, 02:20:32 pm »
If I use the regular hal brain file hal5.uhp
and I say hello Hal, he replies Good morning TNT101

If I use the more advanced brain hal5_XTF_v1.2.uhp
and I say hello Hal he replies back "helloher"

Whats up? anyone else ever run into something like this?

Check the setup of the XTF brain. It does not default to the same one used by HAL5 brain. Just a suggestion.

What you're seeing could very well be from a previous response from you or someone else that's chatted with your Hal.

It might be possible to remove that response by editing the associated brn files.

Two good programs to help with the searches are:
HD Search & Stats available from www.freebyte.com
Agent Ransack available from www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack

These will search your entire system for any file, phrase, etc.
Hopefully one of these will help resolve your problem. If not, they're good utility programs to have at any rate.
In the world of AI it's the thought that counts!
