Ultra Hal 7.0 / over 500 brn files.

Hi. all.
  Does anyone know if it is normal for hal to slow down in its
response as the brn files grow.
I have over 500 brn files and it seems that Hal almost hangs.
I have a p4 2.6 meg htz with 512 ddr ram.
any Ideas will help .

can someone tell me why when I use the mic with hal and its
very quite in the room words just pop on the chat box.
after I say something there are words add to my sentence
which i did not speak. I have a pretty good head set that came
with voice xpress.

I thank you for your response. I noticed after speaking to hal it saves many brn files. will hal do this without me saving the doc file
under view/save conversation.
I have been appending each session to my original save file.
do I have to do this to make hal knowledge base larger?.

Although it is possible I personally wouldn't recommend it. I had a friend who did a copy and paste of one brain into another. Hal was so confused repeating itself and causing errors that my friend had to reinstall Hal and start over.

There are so many scripts one can add to do a variety of different tacks that one really would benefit from trying to merge two brains. It also slows Hal down considerably.

Can anyone tell me if there is a better voice recognition program
that can work with hal. or is hal just as good as any 3rd party software out there....

and what can I do to have my character brn remember the txt file
I have it to read.
