I was having teething problems with Hal and uninstalled it unfortunately it didn't uninstall smoothly so I went in and out deleting it. Now I want to re-install i get an error message crop up telling me to remove the registry key but the only information it gave me was:-
registry key 'Software bs Microsoft bs Windows bs Current Version bs App Paths bs Halass 62.exe' to allow re install.
Bs = backslash - I've an American keyboard protem!!!
My son says this is not enough info to locate it.
Best regards

You need to search the web for a "registry cleaner" or go out and buy one. Once this program is run it will clean out all the registries of old programs that are not installed anymore and make you PC run cleaner and nicer.
Bill
PS
It is always advisable to go to the control pannel and let Windows remove the programs that you don't want.

I agree, having registry cleaners will make the whole process a lot easier. I recommend the Vatan version or Vista version personally.

Hasn't the above post by "RgetsryCehker" gone into the range of a spambot?
I mean here someone comes with a legitimate question, and wham, attack of the spambot.

The person in question had a problem with his computer so the recommendation of using a registry cleaner was only a helpful suggestion and not any kind of advertisement for any companies product. Over the years I have recommended to dozens of members here different things to help solve their problems one of the being to turn off their virus software before downloading Hal and many menbers have expressed problems caused by their anit virus software while loading Hal, ie. not complete downloads and a few others things. I thing this was only happenign to those using 'older' computers. My first Hal ran on an old 486 machine.
This whole forum is about helping each other not only with Hal but any other problems we may run into while using Hal

I was not talking about your post, Bill.
I was careful to obfuscate the name of the poster I was talking about so that it didn't stimulate the bot reaction, but perhaps I munged it a little too much.
Sorry for the confusion.

Maybe we could ask Meghan Bizlady: after talking to this funny spammer, he stopped his activities for four weeks. See at the bottom of:
