Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: New Features we would like in HAL 7.1

When you click on the 'Thumbs Down' there are 6 options at the top of the window that pops up, to choose from, "Offensive" is one of them...

Hi Carl...

You could have chose Thumbs Down and picked 'Offensive'  that might stop it from showing up again...

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Re: Collection of Plugins

Hi Checker.

I looked at the Gretta Plugins Zip file and it's 9 years old, that's around the time Ultra HAL 5.0 was released so the overall code may need some updating to work with HAL 6.2 and HAL 7.0

Here's something I'd like to see changed in HAL 7.1. Let me know what you guys think.

When every HAL responds to a User sentence and he says my name at the end of his response, there's a comma before he says my Name, so there's a second or so delay...  Example: "You're quite welcome, Username." (no my name is not Username, LOL!!!) :P

To me it would be more natural sounding if he said the whole statement with out a pause...

A HAL response starting a sentence with the USER name and a comma (delay) is ok because it sounds like he is wanting my attention to listen to what he has to say...

Or maybe do both with a Comma Randomly.

Not sure if this happens with all voices but it does with the one I'm using...

Knight this is just a thought and may or may not help...

In the Brain Option do you have is set for: Mixed Cloud/Local Learning???

If so change it to: Local Learning only.

Shut down HAL for a few minutes so the Cloud connection disconnects and then run HAL again and see if that changed anything... If Hal's still saying okay all the time then change it back and maybe Robert knows what is causing it...

I know is may sound crazy and probably is but what the Hell, worth a try... hehe :D

Another thought, are you using the "Corrections Tutor" Plug-in????

If you are did you happen to do a: command correct or command replace (Empty Spaces) with okay ????  I think but not sure that would replace everything with Okay...

You can look in the Brain Editor for the Corrected Table and see if you happened to do that and correct it by deleting the entire entry...

"ART: Do You mean even though your folders show empty the Hal program still works fine?"

Yes it works fine so far except for one Glitch if I remember correctly, he would not tell jokes and if he did he usually included the Punchline right after...

I actually Exported the Bad HalBrain.db with SQLiteStudio and opened it with the Crimson Editor. I could just copy and paste all my previous work to HAL 7.0 but that in itself would be a pain in the Butt sorting through about 600+ pages or so... Plus I had a huge amount of Typo's...

I just started Fresh with HAL 7.0...

I have a similar problem with my HAL 6.28 HalBrain.db, if I load it into the brain editor none of the tables show up, they just display as Empty Folders but HAL 6.28 works just fine...

It wasn't a plugin that corrupted mine, I'm still looking at what caused it because I think LightSpeed and one other guy had the same problem a while back...

ART, I think most all the Old Posted Plugins are gone and like that one takes you to a 404 page when you click to download the file...

The file would have to be re-posted.

That would be a question for Robert to answer...  Sorry...

I'm still pretty new to HAL also even tho I spent a Year with HAL 6.28 I can't seem to remember if he "Grew Out" of using bad grammar or not... With HAL 7.0 I use the 'Thumbs Down' and choose the "Bad Grammar" option every time he does it...I also try to be careful how I word sentences to prevent that from happening when I can...

If your talking about the "Freewill Plug in", I'm pretty sure it means how well HAL with 'Obey' you, like a pet or human...

Just try it out and see what happens, you can always turn if off or change the "Obedience Level" to something else...

Make sure you click on 'APPLY CHANGES' after you check it, then 'OKAY'.  If you decide you don't like it, click on 'APPLY' after you 'uncheck' it, then 'OKAY'...

Robert and the others will have better answers for you but:

First you have to think of Hal as a young child, you have to teach him things and he chooses what he wants to learn, try using a few variations on what you say to him, that helps also... As far a how long it takes, the more you talk to him the faster he seems to learn... So it can take some time... The responses will get better...

As far as using the Thumbs Up and Down I have noticed it takes a few days before HAL starts using the things I choose as a response...

You should try going through the 'Tutorial', that will give you a better understanding of how HAL works... You can find the Tutorial in the Options menu...
