Jerry,
I considered it a piece of art when Josh put it out and still think so.
Appreciate you making it available for present members and those to come.

Just downloaded this editor and as usual I have problems.
It must be me.
Anyway Joshbabe loads fine but how do I create my own characters. I have skin files but I cant get them to load into the editor.
Then how do I save such a file.

Or do I misunderstand the editor all together.

Thaks

Tony,

If you're using the free version of Hal, you can't add any other characters.
One must purchase the character pack to compliment the full paid version of Hal.

Basically, Hal looks at or counts polygons (faces) in the characters. If the count differs then the character is rejected and the program switches back to the default character, as I understand it.

In the world of AI it's the thought that counts!

Is this something that you will put in thwe character folder of Hal and hal will use this josh editor insted of using a haptek character.

does any one knows how to configure josh editor with Hal?

, if so please tell me how do i do it.

As far as I know it can't be used with Hal.
It is a stand-alone utility. That's all I
know about it. The guy who created it has
not been around since March. Sorry.

markofkane,   You will find Josh's Hap Editor in the
Bot Resource Archive on my web site. Here is the link
to that page. It's about half way down the page on the
left hand side. [:D]

The character doesn't load. It shows a haptek window, but goes gray.

Oh, One gal shows up. Some of the animations work, some don't

I don't think the guy who created it had everything
worked out in it. I think that it must have been
something he worked on but never quite finished.

Interesting. I was hoping to be able to save the commands to put in the console. Thanks.

I started taking a look at the editor again, when using Johsbabe you have a choice of three characters, head, torso, and fullbody (jiggly).
I think he included the majority of the animations for all the characters, I noticed the wink works with the torso but not fullbody ect. I started working with the lighting for fullbody and found the editor very useful.

iampan, If you look at the first page of this thread Freddy gives a good description of finding the hap-temp file. Just remember that you must click to open your haptek character and take a look in the Haptek program folder OR the User Applications Folder. The character must be running and it will decompress all of its files into a temp. file named hap-temp and stay there for a limited time or when you close the character. It's good way to see all the fils your haptek character incorporates. Carl2 is great with that.
