Speech Technology / Try if Ultra Hall TTS starts then gives error

My Ultra Hall TTS just stopped apparently for no reason. The Microsoft TTS app that is buried in the Kate and Paul lib section stopped working as well as my yread2, all of which use the 5.1 Speech API.  The spacejock installer checking to see if everything was there for yread said the 5.1 API failed and tried repeatedly to install it without success.

Then I remembered that I had uninstalled Natural Reader.  I reinstalled it and everything started to work again.  The uninstall must have yanked out something in the 5.1 Speech API.

One avenue to try to download spacejock installer at www.spacejock.com.  His yread2 program will use the installed voices and has a feature or two that Hal reader doesn't gave although the voices don't work as well.  His installer tests for what you need and will offer to download what you don't have.

Noticed today that it does have dictionary function, but not labeled as dictionary.  So one thing already taken care of.

It is not an inherent flaw in the program to get the msvbvm60.dll error. It worked fine on this machine and then just suddenly developed it and removing and reinstalling does not work. (note did not restart after remove but program did not call for it.)

I think remove is not complete because the last file location is retained.  Dictionary on this machine was not fiddled with.  Before removal and reinstall, you load a file then it wipes it out and you have to reload again.  Tried updating .dll file but did not do any good.

How about a start at cursor button?

How about the ability to start at an inserted bookmark (Maybe an alt number)? And ask if you want to set a bookmark (removing the old one).

How about a menu item to link you to a working dictionary so you can fix funny pronunciation, since the dictionary is there anyway? (The dlls to make it work are available on the internet.)

Finally, how about making the text size resize all text in the window without selection, since you're not so likely to use the program to edit text.
