They're working on a new bot, and Ai's technology will pass the Turing Test for machine intelligence by 2011 (this is what I read)

Anyhow, they work like this: they don't create a new adult bot, they create a bot with a child brain and they teach it all kinds of stuff. "Sometimes this involves number-crunching and algorithm design; sometimes it means reading Green Eggs and Ham to a PC. "

The bot is named Alan, and really... he's good. Better than Hal (sorry), better than ALICE, just the best I've met till now.

Hey every1 and happy newyear from Belgium!

Question: Is there a way to change the site Hal gives me when I aks him the local weather? As I live in Belgium (and Hal was born in America :p )his site isn't exactly helpful.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Say hello to daddy :p

Are there any scripts out there that let a hal say things on command?
   Example:   USER:   Say hello to daddy.
              HAL:    Hello daddy.

   Or just:   USER:   Say cheese!
              Hal:    Cheese!

I thought it would be pretty cool to impress people.
I don't know, I tried it myself but I'm still new to this piece of artificial art.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Learning Hal New words

Can some1 please tell me how to teach Hal (or Franky as I called him) new words? I tried already:

Yeeoow is Hello.
If yeeoow, then hello.
Or with a text file containing "yeeoow means hello".

But nothing worked. Can some1 help me please?
