Title: Valley Girl
Post by: mmmboots9 on March 04, 2006, 05:23:10 pm
This has been mentioned before numerous times, but I am dying for that Valley Girl voice.  Could someone tell me how (or where) to get it specifically for the Ultra HAL Assistant?  I've been looking for it for different purposes for a good while now and so far I've gotten nowhere.     Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

One of those posts said they brought it back.  Even if I could just find another program that uses that voice.  I wonder why this company hasn't  bundled such voices with the Ultra HAL Assistant.  Not neccesarily the Valley Girl one, but anything like that.  Yeah, they have NeoSpeech, but there are others out there too.  The main reason I was looking for that one was because the character I use looks like a teenager and it looks really dumb speaking with an adult voice.

I too thought the Valley Girl voice was interesting and would have liked to have hed her voice to experiment with, but it would seem that that company wasn't interested in the relatively small and non profitable AI community...pity.

After some inquiries some of us found that the price just to lease her voice for three months was astronomical ($2500.00)!! I could have bought a few new computers for that price!

Use the search thing again for TTS voices. I recall a lot of postings on this subject!

like...good luck...dude![8D]

I'll have to find out what programs do use it, maybe I could get those, then it would automatically come with it.  You know how some of those things work.  Besides, they must've one time, cause I found some WAV file of someone talking to what seemed like an AI program and they were using that voice.  Strange, huh?

Wishful thinking. More than likely, the TTS voices are usually separate from the AI or flash site that uses them.

Perhaps they arranged a deal or extended trial period with the company that produces / produced the voice. It might be a lease or someone that knows someone...you get the drift.

Let us know if your quest proved fruitful!![:D]

The reason I said that because a few years ago, I had this painting program that came with an older TTS engine, and I figured it might be sort of like that.  It installed additional voices, along with the program, as there were speech features.  Kinda hard to explain.
