Animations and MSAgents
« on: December 24, 2009, 12:44:12 am »
I searched this topic on the forums and all the posts were
from several years ago. Just downloaded the trial version and
plan on buying it at the start of new year. (Have to survive
Christmas first) I also have a desktopmate MSAgent. She does
go thru several animations during our talk.
Is there a way to program into the Brain or somewhere else
a certain animation.  I have been playing with the Brain Editor
and thought there might be a way to make a MS Agent do something
like "DoMagic1" with a certain question. Or response.  In the
previous posts from years ago, I couldn't find anything, but I
thought maybe by now something would have come up.
Thanks,
Bill

Yes, there is. You can write scripts for any animation which will either look for incoming words or check Hal's responses for words and then do the action including move around the page etc.

I'll try to write up an example script later unless I find one of the old ones to repost.
Don't blame me, I'm just the voice in his head.

Thank you, I will in the meantime do a search for
scripts here. Where do you place the scripts?
Thanks,
Bill

Scripts, saved as *.uhp files go in the main Ultrahal directory. There are several there already and are either skins or Plugins.

I found the reference to use, but haven't tested an example script yet.

Per Robert,
"HalCommand for playing MSAgent animations and moving Agent: <MSAGENT>ANIM-NAME</MSAGENT> and <AGENTXY>X,Y</AGENTXY>"
