limited space on computer?
« on: September 08, 2010, 02:15:31 pm »
i just cleared 20 gigs off my hard drive of junk files.  here what i used
http://download.cnet.com/File-Shredder/3000-2144_4-10662831.html
http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/
file shredder and defragmentor is free but the next one is a free trial it will work in trial but wont remove everything.

i am on vista and these three things cleared 20 gigs of junk off my hard drive, my comp hasn't been this stable since i bought it.
now i don't have to worry about dragons massive file saving so much.

also i found which computer i am going to buy next it is the acer quad core with 10 gigs of ram, its a gaming computer that i found at the electric company for 700$ just the cpu no monitor, and it is tier 1, no refurbished stuff for me, i was going to buy one at walmart then found out it was tier 2, and just packaged as new. it cost the same.

iampan,
I'm still "Ify" (unsure) of anything from acer.  Bought a new Asus quad when the switch to Win 7 was going on for about $650 from Best Buy.
CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme 1064 Intel Core i7 930(2.8GHz) 6GB DDR3 500GB NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit  $749

not familiar with cyberpower but the i7 930 looks good.  Newegg has a good reputation, my favorite.
Best of luck whatever you decide.

Have you given any thought to building your own system?

Also a good idea to Use VHD "virtual Harddrives" the harddrives expand as required... and only need to be brought online when required... also protects files from unwanted scanning. by pesky anti virus programs...
