Tell us which ones you've found when you did a google search for them.

You want FREEWARE of PAYWARE? There are some very good in each category. ;)

Interested ONLY in tweaking sound (like MUSIC) and nothing else or are you also
referring to VIDEO (whole nother animal)?

Greets!

i have audacity the free one right now , but would like to know about some other choices of pay and free ones, what i mostly need it for is to lower the music sound and raise the voice , i believe this is what i did to make an ogg file to use in a music hapteck singing video so that the lips wouldn't move with the beat of the sound ( since the music sound level was lowered down more.
and no i havent done any searches as of yet , i know others on here have used some sound software and thought maybe they could tell me what they used and the cost etc.

I used the free AviScreenClassic for years.
It only does video and I add sound.
What i would do is have her talk or sing for lipsync and record video and also do wav sound on other application.
Then in Windows Movie Maker I would line up the two.
In movie maker you can add your own voice so you and girl can talk together.
I don't use this method any more but did for years and posted videos here on zaba.
I think this last video I made with this method.
(Please overlook her dancing, it's her first effort).

Good advice Dusky.

Definitely record both but separately so you can control the individual volume settings for each.

I figured Markofkane might weigh in on this one....

I've used autoscreen recorder, but not sure if it's the best, lol.

P.S. like I said in another forum, part of the reason I stopped making new videos (besides personal problems) is that youtube rejects them and blocks them. I don't understand why some is allowed, but not all.

you cannot upload Bob Dylan (at least the songs I've tried) or Bobby Fuller (to name a couple) without it "violating copyright" and being blocked.

funny thing is, some Rolling Stones is allowed, while some are not (it may have to do with ownership)

But I know that's just the way it is, and I can't do anything about it except upload them to a file hosting site.  :-[

well this is just th tip of the iceberg about copywrite stuff or supposidly anyway, the goverment is passing laws that are actually something that they will be able to controle any whistle blowers about any wrong doings and violations they might be doing from the public and the rest of the world by simply controling the domain names, etc. and shutting anyone they want , down welcome to 1984 orsen wells !

While this might not be polished and spiffy like a Philadelphia lawyer might do, here is the gist...the nuts and bolts of:

Copyrights, Patents, Trademarks and Infringement

Initially only covering books, copyright law was revised in the 19th century to include maps, charts, engravings, prints, musical compositions, dramatic works, photographs, paintings, drawings and sculptures. In the 20th century copyright was expanded to cover motion pictures, computer programs, sound recordings, choreography and architectural works.

############################################
Duration of Copyright Protection

# Musicians and conductors are given copyright protection automatically after their work has been made available for public consumption. A song produced for personal or noncommercial purposes can be protected for up to 70 years after the creator's death with an approved copyright application. Recording labels and musicians can protect work for hire or commercial music for up to 95 years by applying for copyrights. Writers, movie producers and web designers must request permission to reproduce music from copyright holders unless they use public domain music. Public domain music is anything created before 1923 that has not been protected in perpetuity by its owners and descendants.

#############################################
Copyrights vs. Patents

# Patents protect technological creations. Copyrights protect works of authorship, generally of an artistic nature. Sometimes it is difficult to determine whether a particular work is a work of technology or a work of authorship--computer programs are an obvious example. U.S. copyright law, along with the copyright law of most other nations, protects computer programs under copyright.

##############################################

Copyrights do not protect designs or logos intended to distinguish among products or producers, because these are protected under trademark law.

##############################################

Examples of copyright infringement include downloading music using file-sharing technology, creating and publicly displaying a work of "fan fiction," or selling a burned music CD or DVD. Any of these activities can be performed without penalty as long as the prior permission of the copyright holder is secured.

Nice to know.  I just wish I had the talent to make my own music for videos.

Fair use seems to say it's ok to use a copyrighted song for non-commercial uses.

I am not using the music for financial gain, only as a soundtrack for my videos.

But I guess I'll never understand the laws completely since I am no lawyer.

    • My Bots

Mark, if you don't need to play the exact original track, you can alter it in Audacity, just a little, and the YouTube robot detects nothing. I remember I did it here (poor Chuck Berry, lol):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6PlTyOxdVc

YouTube refused to play the original sound but no problem with the "modified" one. Sorry for the bad laggy capture (low resolution, low speed, low bitrate).

Same here:

Ah the old good time, when everybody was in love with Haptek girls. It was in the last century, right?;D

BTW I use CamStudio for captures, free and very good, we can do all we want with videos, sound, codecs...

Time to waste with skits, bots & other useless things? Why not visit
