deductive.brn file?
« on: June 19, 2005, 08:03:21 pm »
Hello ,
I'm only new at this and the answer is probably so simple .I use the Hal XTF 1.2 brn and after numerous IF..THEN statements , a Deductive.brn file still hasn't been created. I have been using the format ,
If someone does not have much money, then they are poor
Am I doing something wrong , or does the XTF 1.2 brain do without a deductive.brn file ?
     Regards
  Adam

TrueMayhem,

I have notced that hal sometimes has difficulties with the odd statement.

Try this.

in hal type this:

If the sky is blue; then it is daytime.

Once hal says "yes I see the association" then go to your defbrain folder located program files/zabaware/ultra hal assistant 5 and find the deductive.brn

Open with notepad and you should see the following:

"THE SKY IS BLUE","IT IS DAYTIME"

then you can manually enter what you want should you wish to or if hal is not grasping what you want him/her too.

Keep playing and trying to find different ways of saying what you want.

Good luck

Yes, sometimes the deductive.brn doesn't work. I put in an entry, and she ignores it!!![V]

One of the secrets of the brain is to keep the sentences very simply.
In the example of the sky is blue works just fine but the original sentence given by the newcommer is to long. Keep it short and sweet and Hal will sweep you off your feet.

Thanks for the help everyone [:)]
I used your example Maviareb and sure enough , a deductive.brn file was created. Like Bill819 said , my sentences had been too long. I have a lot to learn about this but the results are worth it [:D]

IF Bush is president, THEN we are in trouble.
