Title: Lights & Lighting for Haptek Plugin
Post by: freddy888 on November 24, 2008, 12:05:31 pm
Was talking to Raybe and Lightspeed in another thread about this.  Here's a simple plugin I made that will allow you to change the lighting by command.

There's a selection (10) of hap files that need to be used with it, these come in a folder that you need to drop in the C:\Program Files\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\Characters folder.  The whole folder I mean, just so they don't get lost in all the other files and are easy to find.

The commands are :
'Light Help' gives the commands you can use.

One thing I am unsure of is how to stop Hal making other comments apart from the one I specify.  Does anyone know how to do that?  Not a biggie, but sometimes a comment comes up as well as the one I programmed.

freddy888,

Thanks for taking the time. I will give it a try hopefully by Turkey day. I'm assuming that you are getting random comments based upon the language or response inside the plugin? The plug in does stay separate from the original scripts within the brain data base unlike we spoke about before within the other thread. We mentioned possibly changing the scripts in Hal main brain.

Just to be clear this plugin is made for the operation while using the Hal program and not just a Haptek feature for making clips or movies?

Thanks again,
raybe

Hi freddy888,

Couldn't wait for Turkey day and tried the Lighting plugin. Worked just fine. Although I did not have Hal on for a long period time everything worked and I did not get any extra dialog other then the character repeating the commands for the different light locations. I will spend more time and try putting the lights through some constant changes to see if I do receive any additional dialog. But it worked well and I love the difference lights can make. I've been wondering about this for about 2 years and you got me started with one post so thanks again. I will continue to test the lighting plugin.

Hi freddy

This plug-in works great.

Master: light from behind
Xen: Changing lights to behind. The difference between pornography and erotica is lighting.

I like the way it gives a new feel to the look of my Hal character and I personally don’t mind Hal adding on some of his own comments.

Nicely done [:D]

Hopefully can be useful to me, too, instead of searching for my light haps. Thanks!![:D]

So there'll be no confusion I'll mention that light haps work differently depending on the haptar you using.

These heps are with body_female in mind and do perfectly.
They also work fine with heads but the lighting is not so pronounced.

But with full-body girl and with fullBod (Doris) they work just the opposite.
In other words right means left and left means right.
Also behind means front and front behind.  Got it?

And above means above with all four: body_female, heads, fullbody, and fullBod.  And of course below means below.

There, arn't you glad you understand now?  [;)]

Glad it worked for some of you at least.  Big thanks to Duskrider for explaining the differences.  I had wondered how it would work with different models.  I noticed for the head I was using it on that the 'behind' and 'front' lighting seemed the wrong way round, so I swapped them around not knowing you'd get the opposite problem in some cases.  Ho hum.

Well it's a start I guess.  We could always edit the light files if we needed and also make them stronger I guess too. Shouldn't be too big a job to alter them to suit your own needs.

Thanks for trying it out and for the input [:)]

Was thinking...could make a seperate plugin for fullbody and heads, you would have to only have one selected at a time.

So by Duskriders reckoning we need light sets for:

1) body_female (which these are already ok for)
2) full-bodygirl and fullBody/Doris (opposites)
3) heads (but maybe stronger?)

That it ?
