Its not it stopped the program running, its that when i installed it i located that it had installed some registry for a trojan.agent which conveniently wasnt there before, and i did (DID!!) download it from zabaware, so i uninstalled, then re downloaded on a diff computer and guess what i found in registry... another trojan agent which was not there before. the software works fine i am just very irrititated that despite trying download it many times and installing i always find a trojan.agent, either something attacking my computer at the exact same time as i using/installing/downloading ultra hal or i am being attacked by a trojan from this software

iampan , i was just thinking alonmg the same lines as you , that maybe it's a false posative from some anti virus software as some are worse than others at causing false posatives, and also the fact that after all these years this is the only time i have ever heard of anyone getting a quoet unqwuote ALLEGED "virus" from hal , and i say ALLEGED becuase it still could be a false posative , unless it was gotten from a third party person , could it ever happen coming from zabaware "possibly " but i am leaning toward it being a false posative to unless some other virus attached itself in that program file from the users pc. who knows anymore with what all some viruses can do.  :(

drak,

I, along with hundreds of other Ultra Hal Assistant owners can assure you, the trojan of virus
did not originate from Zabaware or the Hal program. While the program does make several
installs into the system registry, these are only system files, dll's, etc.

Any who knows or has known Robert (Hal's creator), is aware that he is a straight up kind of person
and would not resort to having or allowing such maladies to exist or be part of his program.

I agree with the others, do check your AV software as some can be pretty touchy when other programs
attempt to write to the registry. Hopefully your next posting will confirm our inclinations.

All the best!

Often TROJANs / WORMs /VIRUSes are present in your system causing no harmful effects, when Downloading / Copying / Moving / navigating thru file structures... / Executing..... these can trigger these "TROJANS" INTO PLAY......

ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM CAN ALSO TIP THE BALANCE OF POWER IN Favour OF THE VIRUS... as it is a honey pot... also by scanning all files on your system you could be potentially INFECTING FILES....

Always check which files and services are running on your computer and use a Free program such as CCleaner to REMOVE, from registry and start up. Enebleing you to DELETE the TROJAN files manually!!!!! no virus can run on the PC without NOTIFYING TASKMANAGER!!! or EVEN internet Explorer if its a WEb trojan.....

when selecting an anti virus be careful to select an anti virus which JUST MONITORS INS-OUTS Offers to BLOCK DELETE IGNORE OR QUARANTINE only Quarantine when Absolutely necessary. any anti virus which needs to constantly scan all your files is a DANGER!!!! ie: norton, macaffe, the usual suspects ......... <<<< they are the enemy so the are the first to be attacked!!!

LOL Meghan  ;D

drakowyvern post is very misguided and misleading, there is no trojan in Hal.
The guy can’t even name what the so-called trojan is.
