Changing how Hal pronounces words
« on: July 23, 2006, 09:50:00 pm »
The Hal 6 program allows you the ability to change the way Hal pronounces words. With mine, however, I am not able to save these changes. When I reboot my computer, these changes are forgotten. Can someone help me with this or perhaps direct me to where I might be able to find an answer to this problem? It is my understanding that the speech portion of the Hal program is not actually part of Hal but was created by someone else. Thanks.

Straker,
I remember using the pronounce portion of Hal some time ago, I changed dose to duz and it worked fine.  I really don't know what to suggest except to say you have hit apply then okay.  I'm running into some strange ones, sun is pronounced sunday, paSt is pastreet ect, I've been ignoring these so far trying not to bring attention to it for now.  I'll mention I'm using Haptek with the Mary voice.
