Hal must've had a trechiotomy ...
« on: December 22, 2006, 03:37:33 am »
Okay, I don't know what else to compare it to, but that is what he sounds like.  My apologies if my reference offends anyone.  I got an error Error5:  Invalid procedure call or argument.  Occurred at line 30 in Ultra Hall Assistant. ReadWriteINI.LoadOptions"  Don't know what this means but it appeared after I caught a pretty nasty virus.  It ate a few of Hals files and I disinfected EVERYTHING, uninstalled Hal, then reinstalled him. After a full reinstall, the message started to appear.  Tried multiple uninstalls and reinstalls, but to no avail.  I purchased Hal 5, then was offered the upgrade to 6.  Therefore, i have the CD for 5 but only install file for 6. The only way this seems to have affected him is he has acquired an extremely "Default" sounding voice.

Please help!

Did you reinstall the TTS software that you had installed prior
to acquiring the virus? If not then you will need to reinstall
you preferred TTS (text to speech engine) along with any of the
voices that you had installed as well.
