I believe that if you want to reverse Hal's output in
that context, the word "you" is what you need to use.
At least I think it's you and not me or I, or is it? [;)]

If I say to Hal, "What about me and you?", Hal's reply is, "What about you and i?"

The program has a section for pronoun reversal and if you are not getting the desired or expected result, try wording things a bit differently (if not sometimes improperly).

thanks for the input on this actually i think you are both right about this as the way gamerthom worded it came out ok (of course that will depend on the sentence i use . and art has a point that i may have to reword it even if imprperly to get the right results . the only thing i am worried about is hal using my test tries of a sentence that it is saying wrong "until " i get the wording down right to get hal to say it right " but" maybe after i get the technic learned and do it the correct way it will stop (or i hope so) hal saying a word the wrong way . am hoping this makes sense the way i am saying it . (ha, i understand me just fine its getting others to with the way i write or speak . ) [:)]thanks again for the answers i will try some different ways .

Once you get the syntax correct, if Hal still keeps saying
it the wrong way after so many repititions, you can always
use the brain editor to go through the tables and make any
necessary corrections manually.

yes gamethom thats what i have done in the past , its a job sometimes thats why i asked robert about putting a program on the next version that would list the tables in the learning brain in alphebtical order he said he thought it was a good idea and could do it . i just wasn't sure that after it said something back the wrong way that if i corrected it by typing to and getting the right response if that correct responss would over write the wrong one or not . but either way as you said i can go in manually to do it . Light,

Open the Hal6.uhp file and around line 343 should be
an explanation of the PROCESS: REVERSE PERSON

This may help shed a bit of light on what's supposed
to happen.

You may have already done this, but then again, it
might serve to help some other people.

I used to do most of my editing with Notepad or Wordpad
but I found they would produce occasional errors involving
cut & paste operations so I took Jerry's advice and
switched to Crimson Editor some time ago and it is a
really great, solid editor with a boatload of nice features.

Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Hi Art,
I use Notepad or Wordpad to write scripts but I would be very interested to know more about Crimson Editor. Is it free and where would I find a copy?
Thanks,

Roy.
